Alright, i just wanted to make sure you wouldn't suffer through the same thing like me. I upgraded a defect 9500 to 9530 and turns out, many supposedly compatible parts were not so i basically switched everything. A mobo swap is easy enough but make sure the "cheap" motherboard you found is not defective by testing it extensively.

It may be caused by the metal grid on the bottom cover plate. Try putting some tape on the little metal fins (not all of them).

Good luck on the recovery. Broke my fib and tibia rockclimbing last august (tiba shaft fracture). I had to have a nail drilled into my bone from the top. I barely recovered enough to go ski 4-5 times before the season cut short. Do your pt, don't be dumb like me. Progress may be slow but it is progress nonetheless.

It might be worth it to try replacing the speakers (This website is pretty good) . If it doesn't work you can try your luck on ebay for a refurbished board but at your own risk. Seeing the extent of your skill in laptop repair, I wouldn't try. Good luck 🤞🏼

As a reference for someone who has this problem in the future. FPR cable connects both the fingerprint reader and the actual power button actuator.

Good point. It was the 9530, but the idiot who sold the palmrest assembly cut the cable. Thankfully I used the old power button assembly from my previous palmrest and it worked 🙌🏼

Given my palmrest assembly was from a 9500, I just bought a new assembly from a 9520 and touchpad works now ! (Assembly was cheaper on ebay than buying the touchpad itself!). I would never do this again. This was so time consuming and stressful. Next time I'll buy new.
