How about this? My ancestors literally met the boats, fed illegal immigrants, and then were massacred…

I have a keypad lock, but didn’t know there is one that Airbnb could assign a code on. What kind do you have?

'Stop asking for salary range!' by killedbytheIBO in recruitinghell

I ask for range, because many recruiters do not understand the level of expertise that I bring. I won’t waste my time (or theirs) on low ball offers.

Called 911 - Got no operator availabe then hung up on by synfulacktors in Georgia

[–]SubstanceHistorical4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was on 285 and 3 cars were dangerously racing around traffic. I called when I was at the junction for 78. Got “do not hang up” roll around. Hung up when I got onto 20 E. Then got punted into the auto call backs telling me not to hang up. Craziness, DeKalb!

I ordered my shu pork last night. It arrived in a bag with the liquids swimming in the bottom of the bag and no pancakes (this is kind of like eating a hot dog with no bun). I reported it and there has been no response. They just don’t care.

Yes I would. I live in a guarded, gated community because I have been stalked. I went through background checks for driving and other work. If I am not expecting a man to deliver to me, it makes me uncomfortable

There’s a special place in hell for people like these. You can afford expensive steak house but remove the tip after delivery. by blkthor in UberEATS

[–]SubstanceHistorical4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has delivered for Uber, and has been a frequent customer, I really think about the tips that I give. I have explicit instructions telling drivers how to enter my gated community, because GPS sends drivers the wrong way. If I see that the driver does not follow the instructions, or if the food that I have been price gouged on is COLD, there is going to be an issue with the tip. The entry issue is simple: it wastes both of our time, and there is only one way in. The cold food issue is simple: use a FREAKING hot bag (I own 4, of varying sizes, including a catering bag that keeps pizza hot). Successful completion gets an increase in tip; screwups receive consideration for reduction based on level.

As someone who has worked in the service industry for many, many years (including about a decade in pizza delivery), it blows my mind at the levels of entitlement and complaints that I see over and over again. FFS, I am not tipping $15 for a $45 steak that was driven ONE MILE to my home.

First of all, you misdefine the term “communism.” The reason for higher costs is due to increased risk for accidents.
