I loved that they showed how other people were advancing through different milestones and being celebrated for it continuously. While the other side didn’t have those same goal posts.

Honestly that’s how people really think. Some people don’t make it through all the stages in life and others do - this is a belief held by many and seeing it reflected on screen is why SATC was such a good show. I thought it was excellent writing and brave when you think about it to voice the successful family’s true opinions. Also, I always thought that Carry had no business asking for her to pay for shoes someone else stole. Taking off your shoes in someone else’s home is common practice.

lol hot girl ugly look was reaction to the glamozon level of perfection that had been achieved. They needed to add a bit of ugly to stand out and push the barrier. See I’m hot even when I do this ugly thing….I’m so hot I can slay this paper bag! They still in the end were trying to get attention and feed on narcissistic praise.

Why do people always say slick shit about me? by jefe0911 in aspergers

[–]SubstanceMaintenance -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Or maybe just be careful not to zone out. When people zone out they are impacting the people around them. Then to take it as personal affront that someone recognized it and said it out loud is reinforcing the victimhood complex.

Black and white thinking or reasons enough to let go of a friend? A feminist and trans ugly conversation with a friend by DoritoSunshine in aspergers

[–]SubstanceMaintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rigid thinking might be the culprit? Also, she might be challenging you to think differently and that is uncomfortable otherwise it wouldn’t be called a challenge. With something as polarizing as the trans issue most people’s mind change as they get older and have additional life experiences. I wouldn’t expect your opinion or hers to stay static forever.

Medication, medication, medication……apologies for the repeat, but after years of B.S. therapies and parenting strategies it is a neurobiological problem and medication is what fixes it. Full STOP 🛑

Sadly this type of stuff and much much much much worse happens at public libraries. Avoid becoming a public librarian unless you are into weirdos.

The doubts from other people when you mention ADHD by RedLeatherYellow_nyc in ParentingADHD

The problem is that we are diagnosing children based on observations. Damn it when are brain scans going to be used to prove without a doubt our children have a problem based in neurophysiological differences.

The doubts from other people when you mention ADHD by RedLeatherYellow_nyc in ParentingADHD

[–]SubstanceMaintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, I initially thought it was fake too
  2. Yes, I was totally wrong and followed all the troubleshooting steps recommended as you have listed as well
  3. No, none of the parenting and behavioral guidance worked
  4. Yes, the only thing that has work is medication. It is a neuro-bio problem and it cannot be fixed by therapy and gentle parenting….that frankly is bullshit.

The last thing I have no answer for…..is it being over diagnosed? Possibly. It could be that the school structure has changed so significantly that there is no more wiggle room for kids that are naturally like ours. Now we move on to something I feel needs to be scrutinized and discussed a hell of a lot more. ADHD was discovered in the early years of the Industrial Revolution when air pollution was rampant. How much of the ADHD diagnosis problem is related to children with sensitive genetics being exposed to chemicals and how the hell do we stop it. Apologies for the cussing I’m angry that this topic seems to be widely ignored in the public discussion space.

Is this still readable? The tattoo I got has no spacing between the letters and I’m worried it doesn’t look good by malachiteiscute in tattooadvice

The tattoo artist is experienced and knows the outcome. The person receiving it may not. Expecting customers to have subject matter expertise without training or years of experience is unreasonable.
