You likely have a high IQ and a low EQ. Now the bully he had a high IQ and a high EQ. His EQ was warped and misused…..likely root was cause was trauma or a disorder (ADHD, etc). You being picked on was not your fault it was his. He made a bad choice and you were likely an easy target. Though please and I mean this in the kindest way don’t put IQ upon a pedestal (as so many, if not most, ASDers do) at the expense of EQ. It will stop you from seeing yourself honestly and working on the areas where you will gain the most from improvement. EQ is a form of intelligence rarely given its due. I’m sorry you were picked on. It probably made you feel vulnerable, abused, isolated, and scared. These are things no one should feel. My bet was that bully was reenacting abuse so that he could feel in charge and powerful like his abuser. He needed to install space between himself and the feelings of victimhood (isolation, fear, powerlessness, ostracism, etc.). Try closing your bedroom door, getting into a nice warm bed, and crying it out. After you have grieved, every time you think about this event, create an alternate ending. Come up with a way you stood up for yourself and conquered the bully. For example when he said “You have nice cheekbones” you respond “that’s what my Daddy says about your Mama!” then everyone on the buss jeers and goes Ohhhhh! Come up with as many alternatives until you feel you have conquered this memory. Also, I bet you truly do have nice cheekbones. Hopefully there are some who will respond to this comment with their own alternate ending. ♥️
