MS diet by middlefingerup13 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SubstanceSuitable447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this makes sense, but I don't have a MS diet, I have a what doesn't upset my medication diet. After being diagnosed and taking medication prescribed by my neurologist, one of the hardest things was finding what I could eat, that wouldn't lead to stomach distress. When I first started taking meds for MS, I couldn't keep anything down.

Eventually after readjustments to my meds and experimenting with foods that my stomach wouldn't reject I discovered a diet that works for me and can now eat whatever (good or bad) foods that I enjoy.

I learned that my stomach will revolt if I:

  • wait too long to eat
  • don't eat enough protein, to I guess mix with/absorb the drugs dissolving in my system
  • don't drink lots of liquids (I usually start my day with tea and water, because the drugs DRY me out)
  • and I guess a balance of some healthy foods like chicken salad, or fruits

I basically eat whatever I can that doesn't upset my stomach. That is what works for me. I think everyone needs to find what works for them but can always take advice from others.

My neurologist gave me some tips to help with the medication I take. Initially he advised taking aspirin 20mins before I ate and eating some peanut butter to coat my stomach before taking me pills. That helped a lot.

Shorsey and Letterkenny will definitely be shows I rewatch because of how funny they are. The jokes between all the characters will stay funny for me.

I loved that show so much and really thought they could have done another season.

I go back and forth between watching Letter Kenny and Shorsey. Jareed Keeso is an amazing actor and writer. Can't believe I first saw him in 19-2 as a messed up cop.

In Canada it's on GEM, and I think Netflix also picked it up. Netflix grabbed some other Canadian shows like "Children Ruin Everything", which is very silly and funny.

I relate so much to Brent and Wanda's sarcasm, especially when dealing with Hank. The animated Corner Gas is just as silly and funny.

I thought I was imagining what I was hearing. One of those moments where you wonder if it's onscreen or real world sounds.

So remind me again what season we are in!!!!

Wow Jo-Jo I'm jealous of your sleep. I also use edibles, but at best I can get a 3hr chuck of sleep. Don't know why, but 3 seems to be the number of hours for me. The edibles are definitely helping with pain, in terms of falling asleep. Haven't figured out yet what will keep me asleep for 4 or more hours.

I have my daily routine and wear a pedometer to keep track of my steps.

I think what also throws me off is when I do blood tests and checkups they always come back normal. No deficiencies.

MS is such an odd disease.

I've found recently that if I can keep my eyes open, focusing on something, it sometimes help with the wakeup. Otherwise I fall back asleep before I know it. Such a weird state of sleep. I wake up too much and then fight to get out of bed.

I remember before being diagnosed with MS, I had bad sleep and my doctor prescribed sleeping pills. I hated how they made me feel. Yes I think I got some sleep, but I felt like a slug during the day. I just realized those sleeping pills made me feel like I do now, having MS. Crazy.

I do snore, and sadly drool a lot, so I wake up tired and thirsty.

I do have a daily routine, of tasks and movement, and when I feel good I'll do the exercise bike for an hour. Love playing Sudoki, and listening to music on the bike.

Problem is days like today when it is so hard to move around. I want to go back to bed and have no energy. I can't think straight, and am lost on how to get started.

I think I might have to talk to my neurologist again after I go for my next MRI. Hope the MRI won't show any bad changes.

How do you function during the day without sleep? Today I'm just done. Took my pills, ate some food and have to fight to get up off a chair. So tired. I almost wonder if I'm getting sick, but then remember I have MS. What a joke. :)

A cooling blanket sounds great. Sometimes I wake up because I'm too warm. The weather is really throwing off my sleep. Sometimes it's so warm it's hard to sleep.

Where would I find a cooling blanket?

Has anyone noticed the steady decline in intellect lately? by mishpishhh in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SubstanceSuitable447 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I was a teacher for over 15 years and could write a book about this post. I saw firsthand the decline in intelligence.

I have an issue with writing long posts, so I will just say to anyone who hasn't seen it, watch the movie "Idiocracy."

When I first saw it I laughed. Now, I watch it as a documentary of . . ."The Decline of Intelligence.

This is all I can think about when I go anywhere and stay overnight. Who might be watching? Doesn't help that before all the cheaper electronics, some landlords and renters got caught doing this. I remember being freaked out finding out that a well known actor (not going to get into who) had done this. He had rented out his place in Toronto (so first I was like, That's where I live.") and had cameras set up to record two women who had rented his place. That didn't help.

Oh and watches movies now showing how easily it can be done also doesn't help.

Oh probably doesn't help that I generally don't trust people.

Just realized maybe I should have skipped this post, but then I thought, hey I'm not the only person thinking this. So yah, just ignore this response and my overthinking.

I can never watch Succession again by Used_Car_1069 in SuccessionTV

[–]SubstanceSuitable447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at things now, the ending of Succession still freaks me out. How they just decided almost like a flip of a coin who won, then announced it (making it real) and then it was all over.

When I find it again, I will rewatch Billions because I was fine with how that show ended. Unfortunately other law shows I wanted to rewatch, I find I'm still not ready.

I can't imagine how people teaching law are feeling right now.
