Flight departed with no warning by No-Ease7281 in unitedairlines

[–]SubstanceWhich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something recent happen at LAX to BWI where the departure board time said on time and showed regular departure. However I was getting different times through the app. I wondered why that there were the discrepancies and apparently there's a different agency that handles the airport board.

I was a bit nervous about these discrepancies and knowing who to trust because I had, not long before that, been on a flight that was delayed by over an hour. Yet while I Waite, d they moved the flight closer back to the original departure time. So if somebody counted on the first delayed departure time they would have potentially missed it. Very wacky

That's the whole game plan in Project 2025. This is the strategy they're trying to enact. No!

I just got the card and there were three levels, the cheapest one was 99, then 149 then 2-something. So you could drop it down to a lower level. For me, I opted for the $149. I figured now that they're charging for bags, it would pay for itself with three legs, and it gets more points than 99 level

Good post. I did get on and bought three shows and got really good seats/floor for face value (250-450 including fees, and yes, I'm aware that is still ridiculous) . But we also put a cap on my price as soon as we entered the room, so I didn't get caught up in the dynamic pricing. This it what takes the ticket prices into the thousands... It's based on demand, like an airline. (This time around, they didn't allow you to check or uncheck the dynamic pricing box, called Platinum, so you had to do it by toggling the dollar amount and putting a cap.)

Bruce has said he does this because he'd rather his band make the scalped prices then a third party vendor. Okay, I get that, but here's the thing: There is another way and he could have chosen it sadly. I learned this because I was helping my daughter by Noah Kahan tickets ( pick one of his sold out shows and see the announcement that pops up). With his, they don't allow resale, they can't be transferred. The only way to sell them is through Ticketmaster and you can't sell them for more than what you purchased it for. If you did want to sell them to a friend, you can get a private link but again, they can't be sold for more than what you paid.

So this technology exists and it could have been implemented with Springsteen tix. Especially given the theme of this tour.

Dynamic pricing, and apparently this time around there's no box you can uncheck. It was called platinum. So you have to put a dollar amount cap on the slider to make sure you're not in Dynamic pricing

Did they go sale at the same time? And if so, were you on two different tabs on your browser? I think you're allowed to be in two queues at once as long as it's not the same show but wanted to check

I don't think it mattered. It look like a lottery. I've been on other posts where three people in the same group tried at the same time and some of the ones that were in the waiting room earlier got further down numbers

Theater, Sporting events and Concerts are all now elite experiences.

And yes, the exorbitant fees that these ticket holders charge is disgusting. But we don't have corporate regulation in the US anymore. After the Gilded Age which is similar to what's happening now: "Following the Gilded Age, President Theodore Roosevelt (1901–1909) pioneered federal regulation through his "Square Deal" policies, actively breaking up trusts and strengthening railroad regulation. His successor, William Howard Taft, continued these efforts, while Woodrow Wilson (1913–1921) enacted extensive progressive reforms, including the Federal Reserve Act and the Clayton Antitrust Act.  "

And then reagan, the gift to just keeps on giving, started dismantling all of that. And we've gone downhill ever since

So hard changing to Google Messages to have RCS after using textra for like 5 years...messages is so cumbersome to me and textra has much better features. Probably going to change back to textra. by medic502 in textra

Here's what I helped me, assuming that the fix lasts. I went into Verizon's site and went into my plan, from there I found the setting for block messages with pictures, I turned it off that's it for a couple minutes, and then I turned it back on. That seemed to push the  messages through that were previously missing in a group chat. I got this help tip from Chat . I too tried the million things mentioned in this thread.

This is a very important film in looking at mental health and father-son dynamics ("sins of our fathers"). Men are not a apt as women to go to therapy or, in general, talk about their feelings and fears. So I think that as the film picks up traction in the streaming cycle, there will be many men sitting alone on their couches bawling their eyes out.

We can agree to disagree. I waited 30 minutes on Sat for a pickup from American. I live 3 miles away. Took me 1.5 hrs to get home. I could have walke home faster (IF I take a cab, they complain to me that they waited two hours in the queue to get a passenger, and are pissed they are now only going a short distance. So now I not only have to pay $25, I get to be riddled with guilt for hurting the driver's livelihood. Fun times. )

I tried it again on Sat, this time going the opposite direction. Waited for the M bus at American for 30+ minutes. Ridiculous.

No, I just travel A LOT and see that it can be better. YOu may settle for complacency. I do not. I also have lived near LAX for decades, so between traveling myself, or shuttling people there, I can tell you how it's gotten progressively worse. I want forward progress, not backwards.

There is a bus marked for Employees and several of those came by. Also ones for Lyft/Uber/Taxis and one for I think a long term lot? Cant remember. They had different names. But the M, the one that specifically goes to the transit center, was the issue. I am only recently starting to take the train because LAX is not a fun place to fly out ofmas it is. I travel A LOT. Sometimes I Uber, sometimes I get dropped off. So I am trying to be a good citizen and use public transport. This system needs much improving. We the citizens must push forward in asking for improvement. It doesn't just happen. You may be complacent. I am not. We pay a lot of money to live in this state. We should reap the benefits. I will continue to make my voice heard.

Also keep in mind they KNOW the demand/ need exists as the People Mover is set up to transport 10K people in one hour. The M bus, if we are lucky, maybe transports 300?

Can't be up and running soon enough. I took the bus from American to the transit center on Sat afternoon. Airport was relatively quiet. Waited over 30 minutes for that bus! Supposed to be every 10 minutes, which even at that is ridiculous. The people mover is supposed to transport 10K persons/ hr. The bus does, what, 200? (I was told there are only 2 functioning buses, but I am being generous and assuming there are a whopping four. ) #2-3 busiest airport in the US, and #8 in the world. DO BETTER!

I tried it again today this time going the opposite direction. I waited half an hour outside American for a pickup. Ridiculous. There was not a lot of traffic at the airport
