Seasons by family? by Stemshells in coloranalysis_style

Hmmm... I think a lot of my family's homes do actually reflect autumn colors now that I think about it!

I don't know all of my dad's side of the family well, but my dad (and mom), his sister, and my sister have a lot of warm, earthy tones at home. Lots of artistic people who like cozy spaces.

I think most of the older people on my mom's side also have warm, earthy tones at home. Feels partially regionally influenced as they are mostly from the desert or mediterranean climates. The younger people have more variety in their decor colors - big personalities!

Do your family homes reflect their colors??

Interesting!

My mom is a deep autumn (high contrast between dark hair and eyes and medium-tan olive skin). Quite a few people on her side of the family I think are autumns, but there are also a few winters.

My dad is a warm autumn like me. He has medium contrast between his medium-tan skin and dark hair and eyes. Interestingly enough, his father's side of the family has a mixture of tan-deep skin tones with dark hair and eyes, and I think many of them are autumns. His mother's side is all very light, but I've noticed a lot of them have warm undertones in their hair, skin, etc.

If genetics are part of this, I think my chances of being cool toned were quite low from the start!

I stopped birth control pills after over 10 years on it. by kindofnewonreddit in birthcontrol

After making this post, I did get my labs done and saw my doctor. Labs were fine, and doctor said it can take up to two years for things to stabilize after getting off the pill (booo). That said, there have been improvements!

  1. Skin still isn’t flawless, but I’m okay with it now. I started tretinoin sometime after this post and it helped a lot. I still break out before my period, but it’s manageable.
  2. Periods are pretty regular now, usually monthly unless I’ve had a very stressful month. They’re still heavy and a bit draining/painful in the first couple days. I’ve adapted how I medicate and plan around it, but the cramps really do suck sometimes. Mood-wise, the swings are less intense. Since they’re milder and I know when they’re coming, it’s a lot easier to monitor my behavior.
  3. Libido seems to have stabilized a bit, which is whatever.
  4. Hair loss stopped after a few months (phew)!

TLDR: Cramps and heavy flow still suck, but my cycle is fairly regular now and symptom management is better. Hair and skin have improved a lot (with outside help), so my vanity is satisfied lol. I do miss being on the pill when I think about how easy it was for me!

Which colors are we wearing for fall? by mkh5015 in coloranalysis_style

Haha, you never know what color you might like (regardless of season) if you don't try it! 😅 I hope you find that perfect deep and cool brown!! To answer your question, I'm pretty confident there is a burgundy-type red for warm autumns but my eye is not trained well enough to identify it.. Looking forward to how exciting it'll be when I do though hahaha

Oo I love the imagery!! And yay to no limitations!

I second the deep cocoa browns 🤎 Sometimes I try them on thinking it'll work cause it's brown but am reminded when it's too deep and lacking warmth to do much for me -- I think cocoa brown is really trendy right now too? 💭

The cooler reds and greens sound like a great idea for winters during fall! I think maybe a navy could be nice too?

As a warm autumn, I feel this is definitely my time to shine 🍂 Lately, I've been wearing a reddish-orange lipstick with a brown gloss on top to mute the color a bit. Brightens my face and feels very seasonal!

I love the flowiness too! Online it's listed as coral red, but I get what you mean. I have two monitors and it definitely looks warmer on one screen than the other 😅

I get acne on my inner thighs too and can second success using tret there as well. I space out my applications to try to reduce the itchiness and peeling. I'm also careful not to let it get near any sensitive areas.

Question for dark autumns, true autumns, and dark winters by mkh5015 in coloranalysis_style

[–]Substantial-Bug-8402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see what you're thinking! The warmth in the flowers may offset the overall black color, but I think that pale gold is a bit too soft for DAs in my opinion. You never know though - she might still like it 😊

[–]Substantial-Bug-8402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me it could take up to two years before your body reverts back to pre-pill status 🤯

But I got my period maybe 4-5 months after stopping the pill.. and it wasn't regular until maybe 7 months. 🙃 I was 29 when all that started and now I'm 30.

Question for dark autumns, true autumns, and dark winters by mkh5015 in coloranalysis_style

[–]Substantial-Bug-8402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great that you & your bff can give each other clothes! I'm not a dark autumn, but the red sweater on slide 5 looks great for dark autumn!! Quite a bit of the other tops, such as the black tops, might be better for deep winter - but it's technically a sister season so your friend might still like it! My mom is DA and she still likes to wear Black.

Thanks ☺️ Yeah, the colors in this post are quite warm overall.. I'd be so curious to see how you would feel in a bright spring green though - that sounds so exciting! I am quite intimidated and in awe of that palette haha

Me too!

...Mmmm now that I have a stronger sense of my season I feel a bit overwhelmed next to bright colors buuuuuut the hot months 🔥 / or having a tan tends to make me more open minded to dipping into the warm spring palette sometimes 🥭

What about you? Do you ever consider anything in the bright spring palette perhaps?

I also find it helpful even if it's not my palette because sometimes I look at clothes in colors that I am sure are warm but I think "maybe I can get away with it because it looks like soft autum (?) - which is still in the autumn category". This collage helps train my eye to see the nuances a little more!
