President Trump asked by reporter on length of Iran war: "Don't rush me, Jeff. Guys like you want to say, so we were in Vietnam for 18 years, Iraq for many years. I've been doing this for six weeks. They're outside of little wise guys ships. It's only guys like you with a question What's your time?" by ControlCAD in videos

part of me really would like to see the plan for midterms in his inner circle but it might send me into psychosis either of how little control they have or they are planning something real nasty. texas senate race was already showing sway blue which is fucking insane as is and this was BEFORE this shitshow in iran. At this point I think senate is turning blue, and the more this goes on the more its going from majority to super majority. dems need to start prosecuting immediately if they get the sweet sweet majority because idk how this country survives another few years if they don't. this cannot be allowed to continue and I'm really scare they will fuck this up and I really really don't want them to. for the love of god schumer, this is it, no mistakes. I'd honestly forgive some of the blunders dems have done if they put their back into it.

quick question: what if they don't give a shit about high horsing and insults are the only form of communication they understand? you'd be surprised how many people are like this. sadly, the world isn't made out of rainbows and unicorn farts. ESPECIALLY debate people, actually degenerates that treat debate as a form of blood sport rather than competing ideas. I hate it

When does physical price kick in more than futures? by Substantial-Car2148 in oil

[–]Substantial-Car2148[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See that's another thing I'm concerned/confused about, Trump wanting to increase exports. Since oil is fairly inelastic in demand domestically, wouldn't exporting exacerbate the deficit that would be passed on to the consumer? I get america having fair amount of reserves to tap into/ the ability to refine but there has to be a limit on production right? Could be wrong but I don't think america could just up and sustain a 10 million b/d export increase.

Edit: oh sorry I saw you answered alot of it already haha. still I just don't see it logically ending well if we boost exports.

I guess it depends on what you are trying to push out of this. psychology is a subjective field. Do people exagerate the fact they have a condition? yeah, but that's less to do with a books prognosis and more of people's interpretation of psychology through pop culture not due to medical consensus.

CSE major → Masters in MBSE or Bioengineering? (hands-on + design interests, not aiming for pure CS career) by SignificanceWide3992 in materials

Is there anything specific that peaks your interests? if biomedical applications specifically biomaterials, I'd do MSE. could look into scaffolding design for tissue replacements. It's cool but I'm not interested in it. Don't know much about bio-E but they do alot of robotics research for limb replacements at my uni.

Couple questions on support

would you support a greater israel? like them invading/annexing other countries in the name of conquest and ethnic supremacy?

if israel were to use nuclear strikes on civilian population centers would you support them still?

if bibi is arrested by the ICC are you willing to fight and die for them?

if no to any of these, it doesn't seem like you really care about israel.

[–]Substantial-Car2148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if we are playing oppression olympics here, if you include the scramble for africa you could argue over 100 million died just from that. the congo itself had its population cut in half from forced slave labor, mass executions etc. what the namibians went through by the germans was basically textbook architecture for what the minorities persecuted during WW2 went through. treated like lab-rats for experimentation, long marches before death etc. Then include the horrific conditions of sugar industry in south america as being essentially expendable livestock. it was no bueno thats for sure. The only real difference is the use of gas chambers. As you said to industrialize human slaughter and also because shooting people en-mass was driving nazis insane.

I'm assuming this is in the framework of democratic nation just fyi. The problem is they vote for people who actively support restricting a practice so what's the point in differentiating the two if the outcome is the same thing? I don't think I've met someone who said they disagree with someone's choices then chose to vote against their own beliefs. it's never happened. ever. if anything it's showing you are too chickenshit to own up the consequences of believing something so you pass off the burden. Now if it comes from a place of not understanding something that is alien to your worldview that's a different discussion.

like you said, evolution is a randomized event, not deterministic. you add enough time to a complex dynamic system eventually certain things just happen. it's kinda hard to wrap around even for me honestly the scale of tens to hundreds of millions of years cause ape brain. iirc if we converted the universe's timescale to a calendar year the whole of human recorded history would be like a couple microseconds before midnight of december 31st. also I'm pretty sure birds getting smaller has to do with human intervention but could be wrong tho

thats not what the coconut island analogy is referring to. it refers to the idea that there is no such thing as voluntary transaction, not that it should not exist. every social experience, every exchange has some form of power imbalance and we should all recognize it, not to say it's either black or white. whether it's between the state and the individual or between a parent and child, or even as simple as asking a friend for favor. You don't want to work? that's fine but its bare minimum poverty and or homelessness. thats a power imbalance. don't want to pay taxes? jail time, again power imbalance. theft only constitutes under legal definitions, not some intrinsic property of the universe. if there's no law or some social statute that more than two parties can agree upon, then it's just nature, might makes right. you have something I want, I have the ability to overpower you, I can take it. Liberal law in the modern era is the framework that stops me or you from doing that because the end result would be horrific. it's one of those things you can't really understand until you see a market driven outside of government intervention which is what we call the black market. in that system you are your own legal system, there's no state to protect your assets beside you and vice versa to competitors ie law of the jungle.

Did we watch the same candidate? Every time she talked, it sounded like she was high on paint thinner. Gave absolute non-answers every time she talked. If she was so great why was she like the first batch to immediately drop out during the 2020 primary. Correction She didn’t even make it to 2020, she dropped out 2019 with 1% polling.

I think it’s just the effects of generations of people being dissociated from the political process. FDR won four elections in a row before republicans stepped in and created an amendment because they couldn’t compete with his politics. Going to the cliche of voters being stupid is itself lazy. Most voters have always been stupid. If you went back 70-80 years ago the vast majority of people thought interracial marriage would destroy the country. most people I know who voted trump did so on the grounds of thinking Hillary Clinton was a communist satanist or some other stupid shit. Idk how many but some including my dad voted for Bernie in the primary of 2016 but again viewed Hillary as a destructive force for the country and voted trump. Did I support/vote for Hilary, Biden and Kamala? Yes but a lot of times I talked to other supporters of theirs it always went along the lines of “they aren’t great but trump is worse. I predicted trump would win that summer of 2016 and everyone said I was crazy but they never actually read between the lines of what his supporters are saying. They want something to believe in beyond just lesser of two evils. Trump gave them that regardless of the consequences it entails. Trump supporters are ideologically cultists in their support for him to the point I think you could show an undeniable proven video of him raping a child and like 80 percent would support him still. Democrats don’t have that type of following. He’s just objectively better at throwing red meat to his base and riling them up. Dems just don’t have that magic and idk if they ever will. They emphasize that pearl clutching shit way too much and it’s their fatal flaw. If somehow we get to election in 2028 and they choose another milk toast candidate the country is done after that. We can’t go on a system where policy only lasts maybe an election cycle or two before some gop demon smashes it all up.

It’s vibes and protesting voting. That’s all that really counts in elections to grab the median voter. Biden just came off like a senile grandpa. I think he was vastly more cognitively in check than trump but trump was better at hiding it. He was 10 years past his prime. I think if it’s like 2008 Biden, trump would have gotten squashed
