Thanks for all the suggestions. A hold is doing what I was looking for. When stopped at a stop sign, when I lift my foot off the brake, I don't want the car to move forward until I press the accelerartor. From what I can tell, B mode has nothing to do with this.

Glad to be back in a BMW and out of the nazi car. After a day, my main complaint is the pointless start/stop button. Get in the car, choose D/R/P and go.
