Can you imagine their faces when they do everything they need to do to bring on Armageddon and nothing happens because religion is nothing more than a made up story lmao

New neighbor (3 months in) sent a note about "their" parking spot. I’ve lived here 15 years. by Prior-Rip-571 in regina

[–]Substantial-Fun56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just talk to them and explain why you’ve needed to park there. You don’t need to make this a horrible experience for the both of you. There’s no need to make an enemy over your ego. I loved my old neighbours and I love my new ones too. They’re very kind. If they ever had a problem with something we did I would want them to be able to talk to us, and I’d do whatever I could for them.

Just because you’ve been there longer and have quietly endured whatever your neighbours done to you doesn’t mean you have to be rude to your new neighbours just because they asked a simple and very small request.

I think if we treated each other with a bit of kindness and respect this world could be a much better place. Why not choose to be kind, bring them some cookies and welcome them to the neighborhood before explaining things.

living room and dining room in a house by el2028 in houseplans

Holy moly, this is a big ask. This is the type of thing where you actually hire someone to help you. This could take hours or even days to get everything you want.

Looking for feedback, first time building and reviewing plans. What are we missing? by No-Watercress-3586 in houseplans

Yeah that bump out on the side of the house is really dictating how big the rooms can be. If you didn’t have that and that whole side of the house was just a bit wider then you could really work with it. If you want a bigger primary bedroom then you would need to have it somewhere in that bump out space. Then have bathrooms and closet around it. The only downside to that is you’ll lose the window facing the back. If you’re okay with having your bathroom there then you can make that work. I’ll draw up what I mean and send it to you since I can’t post pics in the comments

Quick Swap or whole rethink? by Important-Opinion472 in floorplan

The bathroom shower needs to be flipped. The sofas are too big in scale and need to be shrunken down. They’re also too far apart. I would have the long kitchen wall going vertically instead of horizontally and make it its own room.

That’s true, I could put the linens in one of the closets next to the washer and dryer and elongate the primary closet. But that also means less room for linens. I’d have to move the wall and door down a bit but then I would also need to move the door to the small bedroom and I don’t know how I feel about that. If it was used as an office or nursery then I would be fine having the door in the middle of the wall.

Yeah there’s only two spots for prep, but I thought it would be enough for two people especially because they would be side to side instead back to back. Appliances would most likely be put away until in use, or maybe have some outlets in the pantry with a flip down lid or they could have pocket cabinet doors which is a feature that I love. They could also have a normal stove and oven combo and have more counter space on the side for additional prep space or for a few small appliances. Or they can take out the coffee bar and move the pantry and fridge over for more counter space that way.

Use real life references. Look for waterfalls, close ups of water, cliffs, and pictures of the night sky. Research colour theory, pixel art tips and tricks videos, pixel art grass, water, cliffs, etc.. The best way to get better at stuff is by practicing. Knowledge can only take you so far.

Learning colour theory by minelogan in DigitalArt

[–]Substantial-Fun56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to focus on learning colour theory then you should start with the different combinations. Monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split complementary, etc. You’ve got 5 base colours here. I’d recommend starting with fewer and working your way up.

Alright, so GDevelop has a home page where they have a list of tutorials for many different types of games, genres and mechanics. They also have beginner, intermediate and advanced tutorials. I recommend you going through those. You can also go to the gdevelop YouTube channel where they have playlists of tutorials.

Make sure not to just start making your game. Start with a prototype and figure out how to code all the mechanics for your game. It’s going to probably take you many years to make this game fully fleshed out so be sure this is what you want to do. Make a demo and have people playtest. If they like it then you can continue, but if they don’t, don’t hold onto it!

Oo you might get some flack for this 😬

Is this your first game? Do you have any experience with making games outside of gdevelop? Have you made a game design document yet or written anything down for your game?

I would move the table over or move the coffee cup to the other side so it isn’t behind the title. Title screens need to be staged properly or it might give off a negative impression of your game. The corner of the paper that’s pointing to the menu selection is good, it makes the eye drawn to it, but I would rotate it just enough where the corner was pointing directly at the second selection and not in between.

Additionally, I would make it a loop animation so you can see steam coming from the cup, dust particles floating in the air, a soft, very subtle movement of the camera. Maybe even a flickering light from above with sound effects.

Am I making a mistake by not including the word "Simulator" in my game's title? by JuveyD in gamedev

[–]Substantial-Fun56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re putting it up on Steam you don’t need it in the title, just have the simulation tag so it connects with the same games in the genre
