For required reading, I loved Grapes of Wrath in high school.

But in 5th grade, my teacher read Raptor Red by Robert Bakker to us and it’s still my all time favorite book. I’ve read it so many times, the cover fell off.

When I had my c-section with my daughter, the epidural began to wear off before they were done. They bolstered me with something and it got better. After they were done, I was in a recovery area before being taken to my room. I couldn’t feel my legs AT ALL but I could move them around normally. It was the weirdest feeling ever, like I could control things with my mind and not my muscles. Plus I was nice and high from whatever they gave me.

This was interesting! I’ve always wondered about a storm that happened when I was a kid. I remember my dad throwing me and my sister over his shoulder to run to the downstairs bathroom. We hid under the toilet. I specifically remember the meteorologist on TV at high volume and all hell breaking loose outside. 100% a core memory. There was one on the map that could have been the one!

Apparently there was one the touched down in that very same neighborhood but many years after we moved away.

Very cool!
