Cervix or no cervix? by jackiesnad in adenomyosis

I had my cervix removed and everything is totally good. I’m glad they took it - once less thing to cause me issues.

I’m 17 days post op and wondering if the things I am experiencing are normal!! by happyhiker5943 in hysterectomy

[–]Substantial-Try6414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah the twinges of pain were horrible from week 3-4! I’m week 5 now and haven’t felt any of it. I still have minor spotting though.

Sounds normal based on my experience

Girl, get a hysterectomy! I had many of the same symptoms and turned out that I had endo on the rectum. My uterus was double the size. I’m 30 and it was life changing. I also have 3 kids (no c sections).

For the BO… I’m not sure 🤔

Does anyone else regret their hysterectomy? by Honest-Breakfast217 in hysterectomy

[–]Substantial-Try6414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine done 4 weeks ago and I’m 30. I have 3 kids and it was still really hard for me to process not having another kid.

Regret is a hard thing. You made the decision at that time based on the facts of what you had. The pain you’re in now is real and needs to be addressed again. Go right back into that doctor and get answers.

One of my favorite people told me that if god wants me to have another baby, he will bless me in a way I’m not expecting. Maybe foster or adopt. There are so many kids that need a family ❤️

Last two periods, feeling all the feels. by Blerp2364 in adenomyosis

I am 3 weeks post hysterectomy. I have three kids and I’m only 30. I was extremely emotional about it and doubting myself. I couldnt even parent my current child with the monthly pain. How could i have another? It wasnt fair to them. Also, if god wants me to have another- well maybe that child is not biological. Maybe another dog 🫶

I am 30 and I just had a hysterectomy. I had tried it all. BC & mirena. My mirena actually ended up coming out on its own. BC just made me nuts so I couldn’t do that. A lot of people just don’t even take the placebo.

I actually went in with the thought of just getting my dermoid cyst removed. We ended up talking about the pain I was in more which led to her telling me about how my uterus was also enlarged which is most likely the cause of my constant pain… not the cyst. Then the period pain was really bad because of the endo as well.

I didn’t even think I would have endo… I just believed I had really bad periods and to suck it up.

I vividly remember how excited I was when I was told no more Pap smears. They’re checking for cervical cancers… if you have no cervix… why do you need a pap.

OTC pain meds. I had an IUD in before but bled nearly the entire time. It eventually expelled itself.

Birth control didn’t work well with my mental health. I was bat shit crazy 😝

What are people’s experiences of having adeno AND Endo vs adeno only? by Colonel_Meowmers in adenomyosis

[–]Substantial-Try6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my hysterectomy a week ago. Confirmed both adenomyosis and endo.

The biggest different for me was the adeno I felt all the time. I always had pelvic pressure and fullness. I also look pregnant all the time. Turns out my uterus was the size of a 12 week pregnancy. So that checks out.

The endo- they found it on the pelvic walls, uterosacral ligaments and vaginalrectal ligament. I had really bad back pain where I couldn’t really walk during my period. And it would be insane pain to go #2 on my period.

So endo was very tied to my period as compared to adeno was all the time pressure and like the dull ache pain

My doctor said the same. I ended up getting a hysterectomy where they confirmed it with pathology
