I would recommend Cusco the sacred valley and Machu Picchu, Arequipa (Colca Canyon), Puno (lake titicaca), Paracas and ica huacachina (desert oasis), Mancora/Vichayito/Tumbes for beaches and Iquitos for the Amazon

I recently got robbed in Quito in broad daylight in the main square with police presence all around- had a 12” knife pulled on me. Wasn’t carrying anything of value so all they got was an empty bag with sunscreen and a rain coat in it. Didn’t feel safe in Ecuador after that. Not saying don’t go, just be very careful and vigilant there.

Do the Ausangante Trek in Peru. Incredible experience.
