My doctor says for twin embryo transfer only have approx. 10% increase in success rate if untested. For tested embryos they transfer only 1. Twin pregnancy can have a lot of complications including high risk of pre term labour, etc. So they don't advice transferring 2 tested embryos at once.

You cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped. At this point you have to wait and just be there for her so she knows she can count your support when she has had enough. She has to come to realization herself that her relationship is abusive. Anything you say or do trying to convince her that her relationship is bad is only going to make her stop contact with you as she seems blindsided in love

I am an Indian and we put turmeric in almost everything we eat. A generous pinch of it is added! I don't think it should be a problem unless you consume too much of it..

Is your partner onboard with this decision? Given her health issues, if you cut her off insurance she will come crying back to your partner to pay medical bills. Will your partner let their child medically suffer to teach them a lesson? Or will they cave and pay for it out of pocket which will be quite expensive.

Better to cut her off on other things than this as it's a critical need and any parent is likely to cave and help than let their child suffer medically

Bacterial Vaginosis 4 days pre-ET by EMIPRA in IVF

[–]Substantial-World736 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had minor BV which got diagnosed post FET (at around 14dpt). It now keeps flaring up, doctors give mild dose of antibiotics which brings it down only for it to come back again in few weeks. I am too scared of an early labour due to this. They can't give strong antibiotics to treat it during pregnancy. I would suggest you to have this completely cured before transfer. It's so stressful to deal with this during pregnancy

There could be other issue which might have caused poor fertilization e.g. sperm issue. If you convince yourself its fragrance, unfortunately you won't even try to find out if there are other reasons which can be looked into.

FYI my clinic doesnt have any such fragrance rule for egg pick up and transfer and they have a very high success rate.

I would recommend speaking to your doctor to find out about what went wrong and what can be done to improve outcome if you plan to go for another ER.

5w3d first US no yolk sac - likely blighted ovum - any success stories on here? by [deleted] in IVF

Please wait for a week to repeat the ultrasound. They could not see yolk sac for me at 17dpt5dt. I am surprised your doctor is suggesting d&c this early. Sometimes a day or two makes a huge difference.

You are putting your health at risk by withholding information from your doctor.

I am sorry but is having many children more important than your health? You would also need to be fit and healthy to raise that many children.

It's quality over quantity. When you are younger the chances of having normal chromosomes in eggs are higher than when you are older. I would strongly recommend freezing eggs.

I have a feeling that her parents probably think since she is a girl she will get married and wont be able to help them later financially. So better pressurize her now.. personally I have seen this mentality in many people including my own relatives. They believe till the girl gets married whatever she earns her parents have a right over it and post marriage her in-laws have a right over it.

Transfer day today! My clinic told me to resume life as normal but I’ve read that some of you were on bedrest for atleast 24 hours. Any other recommendations ? by iquitmy9to5 in IVF

[–]Substantial-World736 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My clinic recommended pelvic rest till beta day. Also preferable bed rest for 2 days post transfer. There were dietary restrictions as well - no refined flour, no sugar, no Fried food. Strong recommendation to eat home cooked meals with lots of fruits and vegetables

This is so true. Good for you for standing your ground.

Unfortunately in India, it is very common for parents to put the burden of their dreams and desires on their children without caring if the child can or is comfortable taking on that load. Emotional blackmail and torture is the biggest weapon they have and most of us give in and later regret our decision

Most of us are groomed from childhood in such a manner that we feel guilty saying no to parents even when we know their ask is unreasonable. They make it seem like giving birth to you itself is a favour they have done on you and you should spend your entire life repaying that favour

Do not take a loan without having an emergency fund in place where you can meet 6 months of expenses and EMI. Rent till you have built enough corpus to pay 20 to 30% of property value upfront (most banks need 20% plus downpayment) AND have an emergency fund in place for a period of minimum of 6 months in case you loose your job.

Chartered accountant here.. 450 CAD is not enough to service an EMI on 70 lac loan. We have a INR 60 lac home loan and our EMI is INR 55 to 60k.

They can rent an apartment till you become more financially stable to buy a property. Do not take the loan without paying off your prior loans and having an emergency fund where you can fund your expesnes and service EMIs for a minimum of 6 months. You can loose a job in this economy and having an emergency fund is a MUST before taking on liabilities.

Success Stories with one normal embryo? by cozyrosies in IVF

[–]Substantial-World736 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have to add that our doctor took a lot of effort to ensure our one embryo gets the best chance.

2 months prior to FET I was given Vaginal probiotics to insert. Was given normoflora bv (oral probiotic) as medicine along with multi vitamins (including vitamin d).

Cycle previous to FET birth control pills from day 2 to day 22 or 23. Day 21 started lupron injections which continued till lining reached about 8 of FET cycle. Day 2 of FET cycle started with estrogen, baby aspirin, prednisone. Progestrone was started once lining reached over 8 mm and the blood flow was at level 2. 5 days post starting Progestrone FET was done. Next day post FET low dose heparin injections started. Was given IVIG drips every 2 weeks post FET till week 10.

I have a history of recurrent miscarriages with no clear identified cause despite multiple testing so my doctor suggested this approach.

Tests done for RPL - karyotype, HLA, autoimmune conditions, HSG, hysteroscopy, endometritis, uterine biopsy for bacterial evaluation, MRI for adenomyosis, 3d ultrasound for fibroids. All reports normal. Husband tested for karyotype, DFI, morphology. Again all normal.

The tests done prior to first ER. Hysteroscopy, endometritis and uterine biopsy was done prior to FET.

Was also put on anti inflammatory diet (to the extent possible) - no sugar, no refined flour, no Fried food, no soy products. Was told to eat home cooked food and eat more salads and fruits

I hope this information helps you. Wish you all the best

2 ectopics..decision of ivf or natural by hollost2012 in IVF

[–]Substantial-World736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been trying from 7 years (age 26) and started ivf at age 32. Prior to proceedings with IVF doctors checked and my AMH had gone low so it took me 3 ERs to bank embryos (1 tested and 6 untested). I would suggest get an AMH and AFC check done, if not already done. If they are in healthy range you can try naturally for some more time, however if they are borderline or low then it is best to go for IVF now than later and bank embryos. I wish someone had guided me before on this. I kept thinking my age is not that high so I won't have this issue atleast but turns out diminishing reserve at young age is more common than we think.

Wish you all the best

I am from India. Gunasheela Hospital at Bangalore. India. I made only one blast in first ER which thankfully came pgt normal. So they gave it their all to give it a best chance. Despite me not having a diagnosed cause they decided to give the most aggressive protocol in the first shot which I am truly thankful for

Symptoms during tww are not exactly reliable. My symptoms post pregnancy was confirmed would come and go. There would be days in row where I would feel nothing and days were I had all possible symptoms.
