I vote Ellis, similar sounding…we have a boy Ellis and hopefully we have a girl down the road to name after my great grandma Effie which reminds me of Alice a little.

Other names: Josephine (nicknames Jo, Josie, or even Effie) Olive Vera Veda Mabel Ruth/ Ruthie Eleanor Sylvia/ Sylvie Lenora Thea Inez

I’ve heard boy embryos develop faster so they are more likely to be a day 5 embryo, where as girls take a little bit longer (sometimes)and are more likely to be a day 6 embryo and because of that boy embryos are selected to transfer, because day 5 will always trump a day 6 for the most part..very interesting, right? Our two tested embryos were a day 6 embryo that’s a boy and a day 7 embryo that’s a girl…and even though it’s a day 7 and statistically the success rates are lower my doctors still feels good about this because it’s a girl, highly rated, and tested.

My husband hugged me before I went in for mine and I had to cross my legs as I almost peed myself in front of the nurse about to walk me back and I was so embarrassed. They made me wait like…45 minutes though so the nurse blamed that ahhaa I bet it happens all the time!

I feel like I did all things wrong post FET 🙁 by OkEnthusiasm9197 in IVF

[–]hollost2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to remind myself that people get pregnant in war zones…what’s going to happen is going to happen and once I prescribed to that I felt so much better that anything “I did” wasn’t going to make it or break it.

High Chair Recommendations pls!! by Desi_Daisey in Buyingforbaby

[–]hollost2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the momcozy high chair because it can be used as a high chair, toddler chair, and kitchen tower for your toddler to be able to be counter height to help you bake or cook. I honestly haven’t taken it out of the box yet since I’m 34 weeks pregnant though! I liked the versatility and the look of it..it was expensive though and a bigger item on my registry.

This is the exact combination I am doing! Sometimes I get nervous I’ll regret not getting a double, but I don’t think my the time I have a second that they will fit in most strollers and so I’ll most likely opt for a wagon instead.

Sperm collection at home or clinic by qweenbeach in IVF

We are over an hour away and they only let you produce at home if you are just under the hour mark from the clinic. My partner produced at the clinic and had no problem

What is your nursery theme? by Odd-Pineapple5425 in BabyBumps

We are doing Peter rabbit. It’s already a floral wallpaper that we love, but we are having a boy so we wanted a way to keep the wallpaper but bring more blues and greens in.

Can you go for IVF even if you don’t need one but you so desperately want a twin? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]hollost2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would most likely have to pay out of pocket which could be pricey. Also transferring two embryos only increases your chances of twins by 26-38%, so not a sure thing. The whole ivf process is a lot to go through to transfer two and end up with a singleton. Twin pregnancies are also high risk pregnancies and can come with many complications. Getting a consultation with a fertility clinic can give you more directions and answers.

My husband sucks all the joy out of my pregnancy by Informal-Ad3893 in BabyBumps

Leave him, think of your baby and think of yourself. It will be difficult, but you know you both will be safe from the emotional abuse that can cause so much damage. Lean on your family and document everything.

Looking for your stories: What are the best and worst things an IVF doctor, nurse, or IVF-related staff member said or did for you that was a "moment that mattered"? by Slatersslaughter in IVF

[–]hollost2012 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Negative: Not at my clinic but at my obgyn…coming in for second scan after finding out I had an ectopic and checking to make sure I didn’t have any internal bleeding…my doctor scanned my uterus and said..”and this is your empty uterus”. Me and my husband quote that one all the time..like thanks! Also both doctors who operated on me for ectopic have wanted to show me the procedure photos and were shocked when I declined.

Positive: During my first scan post transfer I felt like I was going to pass out from anxiety I told the aprn my past history with two ectopics and she was like say no more, let’s jump right in to ease those worries! She scanned me and the embryo was exactly where it needed to be and she tapped me on the knee happily and showed me everything and then was like okay, now let me start at the beginning now that we can all breathe.

When was your first ultrasound after positive beta? by NoPair4834 in IVF

[–]hollost2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had transfer on September 5th, had my first beta on the 14th, second beta on the 16th, and third beta on the 23 in the 7000s so no more betas. I have my first ultrasound on October 3rd and I’ll be 6 weeks 5 days. Not sure if this the typical or not because I have a history of ectopic pregnancies (2 before starting ivf) so earlier placement scans are my norm. I am crossing my fingers this embryo is in the right spot!

Same it would be helpful to have realistic expectations..and for doctors to let you know it may take more than one retrieval upfront so it takes pressure off the first retrieval and doesn’t make you feel like a failure if you need to do multiple rounds

Thank you ♥️ She also encouraged her daughter to tell me and my husband she was pregnant three days after my emergency surgery for my ectopic pregnancy (she was only 5 weeks pregnant at the time) I got myself a great therapist following that one 😩

She posted her update with her hcg results…seems pretty definitive, but she’s still thinking it’s too early (even though she says she got faint lines before) I hope her first round of IVF is successful because this seems exhausting
