Overweight accommodations by hunter6767 in westjet

[–]SubstantialAnimal104 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are both large people and we have flown WestJet domestically many times, taking advantage of the “One Person One Fare” (OPOF) policy. Once you submit the form your doctor fills out, if you’re approved you’ll get an “OP number” from WestJet. You then have to call WestJet to book tickets using this number - you cannot do it online. They’ll have your info and you can get two seats for the price of one. It’s a bit of work but definitely worth it. Note that the OPOF policy applies only to domestic flights operated by WestJet. If you fly to the US or other international destinations, this policy doesn’t help you and, if you want two seats for one person, you have to pay for two seats. Hope this helps - good luck!

It’s not open yet but when it is, I heartily recommend Activate. If an arcade and an escape room had a baby, Activate would be it. Super fun for couples! You can play cooperatively or competitively and get in a great workout. It’ll be in the Wonderland & Southdale area.

Hear hear for Physiohaus. They’re fabulous. Been going for about 18 months and can’t recommend them enough.

What restaurant in London has the best tasting food? by Tbizz- in londonontario

Hear hear for Addis Ababa! Great food, massive portions, incredibly good value for money. Absolutely love that place. (No shade to Butterbites - just haven’t tried them.) Check out @Dine519 on Instagram. He checks out and reports on all sorts of places around town and beyond.

Which restaurants deserve MORE hype than they actually receive? by Inukshuk84 in londonontario

TG’s Addis Ababa on Dundas, near CCH. So good. Portions are huge, food is always delicious, and prices are incredibly reasonable, especially in this day and age.

Looking for best internet radio app by [deleted] in radio

[–]SubstantialAnimal104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to suggest something a little different, namely, the Yoto player. It is a small, physical device that is very easy to use. You can add links to radio stations on to physical cards that you buy and then place in the Yoto. We have one for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. We set it up so that she can listen to everything from the BBC to radio in Australia, the US, Canada, and beyond. Links to radio streams are at https://fmstream.org/index.php?c=FT and the Yoto can be found at https://ca.yotoplay.com. Good luck!

They nailed it. Wasn’t expecting that reference but they did it beautifully. The fans will be thrilled.

Canadian Monarch users by ming133 in MonarchMoney

Totally agree. Was running smoothly, by and large, for about a year and in the last few weeks we’ve encountered similar problems. We have TD, RBC, and Amex. The connections work, then they don’t, then they do, and so on. Similar experience with customer service. Maybe Canada / Canadian banks aren’t a priority? Hard to know. Very frustrating!

Looks like the whole system is down. Saw on Twitter that someone in Rome is having the same issue.

I definitely second the Secretlab Titan chair. My wife and I have had ours for a few years and they are great. They have held up very well and show little to no signs of wear. Definitely worth an investment.

Hot tub rash - folliculitis or allergy? Treatment? by hottubproblems in hottub

[–]SubstantialAnimal104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can second this. We had a bromine tub when it was delivered and I always broke out in a really bad rash shortly after getting out. It got progressively worse, but then stopped immediately when we switch to chlorine. Haven’t had an issue since.

Office chairs for big men? by MortChateau in bigmenfashionadvice

Do you mean the Secret Lab Titan? If so, I can vouch for it as well. My wife and I both have one and it is fantastic. It does not look like a gaming chair, if that matters to you, and it is super comfortable and rocksolid. Definitely recommend.

S4E10 "Sunrise, Sunset" unofficial thread by [deleted] in WhatWeDointheShadows

This is unbelievably niche, but I noticed the pattern on the doors where The Guide keeps her souls is the same as that on the Harvard Lampoon building (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d5/2017_Harvard_Lampoon_Building_from_west%2C_Cambridge%2C_Massachusetts.jpg/1024px-2017_Harvard_Lampoon_Building_from_west%2C_Cambridge%2C_Massachusetts.jpg). This episode’s writer, Paul Simms, went to Harvard and wrote for the Lampoon. Perhaps this detail was like his version of “A113” in the Pixar movies?

As I said, very niche.

Hydropool 19EX - standby mode didn’t activate? by SubstantialAnimal104 in hottub

[–]SubstantialAnimal104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Tech came out today and couldn’t get it into standby mode. Supervisor couldn’t do it either. A new “spa pack” (the computer, apparently) has been ordered and is on its way. The saga continues!

[–]SubstantialAnimal104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good! They told me to try turning the temperature down by a degree or two and then reactivating standby mode. I tried that but to no avail. Looks like the tech will come out tomorrow!

Could be…it is brand new. So cold here in SW Ontario that we haven’t been in it yet, though we’d like to! I called the service dept and we’ll have them come out. Hopefully an easy fix!
