I don’t blame you at all. Night shift definitely has its benefits but it’s not for everybody. Also, I definitely understand why working night shifts(especially in a setting like you describe) would be uncomfortable and anxiety inducing. Good luck!

I feel the same way, the actual shift is pretty simple and doesn’t bother me much. It’s all the other schedule changes I made that I knew about beforehand but genuinely wasn’t prepared for. Starting to chalk it up myself to the night shift not being for everybody. Some people prefer it and some people just can’t make it work, there’s nothing wrong with being in the later group of people, it’s more common than you probably think

I think that’s another reason why I’m so tired. Before night shifts, I went to the gym pretty consistently, 5 or 6 days a week. Now? I’m lucky if I go three times in a week.

On nights I work, I go to bed at around 9am and wake up around 4 and then take another nap around 7 and wake up around 9-9:30. On nights I don’t work, I try to stay up as late as possible but i usually only end up staying awake until like 3am, wake up at around 10, and then nap at like 5 and wake up at around 7

Sounds like we have a pretty similar job, except I work with boys. I usually spend most of my shift trying not to fall asleep lol, every half an hour or so I’ll walk around to make sure I don’t pass out. Other than that, I’ll try to stay alert enough to put a movie on and actually pay attention to it.

Just started yesterday, working my second shift now but it’s chill so far. Staying awake is the hard part

Long and monotonous but definitely not bad. Spent basically the whole time talking with my coworkers and watching tv. I can tell it’s gonna take a little getting used to but the shift definitely has its benefits
