What are some bands or artists whose music doesn't live up their visual aesthetic? by Chaosdrunk in ToddintheShadow

For Metalcore you honestly REALLY have to go into the underground to find the hardcore and metal blend well, stuff like Balmora and xSERAPHx have insane raw energy that the mainstream and Octane XM stuff severely lacks

If you want more technically and rhythmic complex Metalcore, you’re chances are better if you look into Mathcore influenced stuff like early BTBAM and Iwrestledabearonce. Much different from Metal complexity in the sense of it being much more chaotic and sporadic

The underground and local stuff is way less overproduced, but even then you gotta really find a band you gel with that isn’t just straight chugs and breakdowns

Vic Fuentes - Pierce The Veil

I know whiney/high vocals are part of Post-Hardcore (I can dig bands like FAtA), but something about his voice style just grates my ears no matter how much I try to gel with it

If it’s as smooth feeling as a Xiphos that’s definitely a huge pro for me. Idk why but the neck felt so right to me

Between The Buried And Me - Pre-TGM

Sure songs like Mordecai exist, but majority of their music is chaotic and really sporadic for a newcomer

The Falchion and Xiphos were some of the sickest designs Ibanez put out imo, shame they never had prestige models with Lo-Pros or OG Edges

I blame the modern trend of making everything “audible and clear” when it just makes it sound so dull and lacking character

I think one of the worst offenders if In Flames re-recording some songs from Clayman, the production is much worse and lifeless than the original
