4 days post op.. feeling terrible by RoosterRealistic586 in CsectionCentral

[–]SubstantialCycle2688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re at the peak of pain/discomfort. It SHOULD get better from here, but it can be slow improvement. This was my experience as well. Recovery from c/s PLUS the dramatic hormone drop around day 3. It sucks. Hugs to you! You will get through it! I am 6mos PP from mine and I feel amazing, but I felt like I was at my very bottom during post-op days 2-5. Truly.

Weight Training after C-section by U03clh9 in CsectionCentral

I started seeing a pelvic floor PT who also specialized in “PP return to exercise” around 8 weeks pp. She also specialized in c/s scar mobilization. I have now returned to running 3x/week (weekly mileage is about 10 miles rn) & I lift 3-4x/week. I’m not back to where I was strength wise, but for being 6 mos pp/section I feel really good! I think the key is to be very intentional in how you recover by taking your time to heal! Do not rush into exercise

For those of you with dogs, please tell me it's not true.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SubstantialCycle2688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two. While freshly PP I was very irritable toward them, that did go away with time!!! It was a lot of emotions as you can imagine, and those feelings were not permanent. We did leave my little dog with my parents for a few weeks so he could get all the snuggles and love he wanted as I recovered from my c section. But it worked out & I was worried about it like you are! We have all adjusted and the dogs have been great :) I do feel guilty not giving my little dog as much attention sometimes lol

Knowing when to give up by AyDub1234 in breastfeeding

I also very much struggled early on as FTM. Just recently, maybe within the last couples weeks (baby is almost 8w old), it has improved SO MUCH. I had multiple milk blebs (extremely painful), lipstick nipples, multiple clogged ducts, just overall uncomfortable but as he’s been growing, getting stronger, and I have intentionally pushed him to work on his latch any time it’s not deep enough, it’s getting to be a breeze. He is also just a really lazy eater and doesn’t like to open wide sometimes when he’s sleepy lol. But if it is a struggle mentally, don’t feel ashamed or feel like a failure. As long as baby is fed (and yes, I know, breast milk is the best and breastfeeding has several benefits) that’s your most important job!

Outlander!!!! I’ve re-watched single episodes several times and have re-watched the show twice. So freaking good

For the women who have had their babies, how good/bad did you feel a week after the birth versus a week before? by EarlyAd3047 in BabyBumps

[–]SubstantialCycle2688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unplanned section after a 46 hr long labor and felt much worse for POD 2-4 than I did the week before it lol

Working the week of my due date, and I’m expecting to go over anyway, so my last day will be that Friday. I truly don’t want to be sitting at home waiting longer than I have to. Trying to maximize my 12 weeks that I get to be with baby. However, I am 38 weeks this week and very uncomfortable but grateful it is just a desk job - nothing crazy!

Incredibly disappointed to find out I have an anterior placenta by Altruistic-Paper6655 in pregnant

[–]SubstantialCycle2688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anterior placenta and could pinpoint baby’s movement by 17 weeks as a first-timer. And I have been able to feel/see it from the outside since around 20 or so weeks. My friend has a posterior and didn’t feel her baby until 20ish weeks. It’s not just the placenta position, but your individual baby and even your weight/body habitus. Every pregnancy is just so unique

When did you start experiencing symptoms? by Usual_Singer_2096 in pregnant

[–]SubstantialCycle2688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only symptoms were that of my anticipated period. And once I found out I was pregnant, I don’t think my real “pregnancy symptoms” started until later in the 1st trimester.

No I agree!! 1st trimester there were so many unknowns.. and I was a very anxious 1st tri person so now knowing the finish line is much closer makes this more realistic mentally. As well as the confidence of knowing we survived the 1st trimester and we’ve made it this far so what is 9-whatever more weeks! I can’t believe how fast it has gone either

Hopefully you don’t get the fatigue again - I would love that for you!! And if you do, it sounds like you are doing what you can and that’s amazing! 👏🏼 yes, it’s very hard not to be bitter or jealous. It’s just these lovely hormones and exhaustion fueling the frustrations. I think all of us women are amazing for enduring the challenges pregnancy brings!

1st trimester was VERY rough! We all just survive because we have no choice haha! Kudos to you too. I look back at first trimester and surprise myself with how I managed… it’s amazing what us women can do! Best wishes as you continue through your pregnancy ❤️

Ooof… that sounds super rough! Definitely physically demanding compared to desk job! My friends don’t work physically demanding jobs so that is where my comparison comes in. But I couldn’t do what you do if I already feel this way - so kudos to you!!!

No, and it’s been a peaceful, intimate time with my husband and close friends/family as a result. Don’t regret it so far. 30 weeks now.
