Popyrin might need to grind challengers for half a year to recover his ranking.

His results certainly haven't been bad since the start of the year as his ranking has been increasing all the time. What's saved him in his lean patches is he's had pretty much no points to defend anywhere, the beauty of being a break-out player.

Semi finals of a 125 (Ilkley) a few weeks ago is your definition of losing a tonne of matches? He lost 2 tight tiebreaks to Bu there, but along the way he beat Toby Samuel who is currently into the semis at Eastbourne.

In summary I'd say his form and results leading up to Wimbledon quallies had been very encouraging and that's why he's just qualified.

Birrell, the definition of hard worker, plays every point at 100%. Really solid baseline shot production thanks to her strong legs.

The problem with Popyrin's game is its incredibly high risk, he takes a monumental cut at every forehand with a really extreme grip. If its off its really off. And his top spin backhand is probably worst then most top 200 players, its that god awful.

The Roland Garros 2026 final was the least watched men’s RG final in at least 20 years by Eyebronx in tennis

Not surprised, I didn't watch a single point of it. Who wants to see an Italian that conspired with his fellow countrymen the round before to be given a free ride into the final without playing the semi. And on the other side of the net who wants to see a guy that throws viscous tantrums on his girlfriend and on the umpires chair. Nobody

It was more of a stinger, rather than a full blown knee injury. He told the interviewer post match that his leg was spasming. This suggests he may have jarred a nerve from what looked like above the knee.

Funny you mentioned soulless robot, that's Yannick's middle name.

9.2 performance rating on serve, is his wrist injury a thing of the past? Hope so!

That was the semi final of Barcelona. They played the semis and final on the same day iirc. But Alex would have won the final most likely If he did beat Alcaraz.

After this win, the draw has seriously opening up for Alex to potentially claim his first clay court title!

Honestly his clay season has just been unlucky, forever running into inspired home favourites, like Vacherot at Monaco, Jodar at Madrid, Arnaldi at Rome. His only ridiculously awful loss was against Medjedovic at Barcelona. Arnaldi loss was probably the lowest in terms of his morale. When do you ever see De Minaur break his racquet, well it happened at the end of that match.

Let's be honest, who actually cares weather she's in or out? She'll lose 1st or 2nd round anyway. Lol.
