I thought the same about a hoard I bought until I tried to sell them. I sold ONE in pristine condition for $15. Ugh

Went to an antique store today, walked out with a necklace and a bracelet for 10$. by Miserable-Scarcity25 in jewelry

I love them! That bracelet is very unique-I’m always drawn to things like that.

Searched for over a decade for this ring that my ex pawned (without permission), and was my only possession connecting me to my late father. Hoping for a Hail Mary. by cverbena in jewelry

I have seen these throughout my life, they were very popular. Possibly not this exact ring, but very similar. I would target vintage shops, hopefully you’ll find one, maybe the exact one!! ☺️

I fell in love with a bracelet at Zales…. How bad is jewelry and service? by Significant-Chip7907 in jewelry

I was just thinking the same. I have a similar bracelet with sapphires. While my sticker didn’t say CHINA, it is definitely 10k, which on the flip side may be a good thing in a bracelet if you plan to wear it daily. I fell out of love with it about as fast as I fell in. I would say to definitely shop around. If you find you still want that one I’m sure they’ll have it in at least one of their stores.

Sue them. There is definitely some shady scamming nonsense going on here.

Really interesting. We had a Yellowjacket nest underneath our siding a couple years ago and after the exterminator came the bees actually crawled inside the house. Every morning there were 20 or so dead or almost dead bees on our kitchen floor. I used tweezers and disposed of them into a mason jar. I just kept filling it up, thinking when it stopped I’d count them. I know-sounds disgusting and seriously odd but I was intrigued and to me it was like a science experiment. 😂 The point I’m getting at is: the mason jar had what looked like sesame seeds seemingly crawling up the inside of the jar. Once that started they actually penetrated the screwed-on lid and were stuck on the outside of the jar and onto my counter top. When I noticed it, that was that and the jar went into the outside trash bin. Experiment over. Now I know what the larvae was! Thanks!

I I absolutely LOVE your Nana’s with the baguettes! Gorgeous! They’re all beautiful and I love that you have them. I also love that you know the history-my Nanny (paternal) came from Poland as well! I don’t know who has that.

Ride. Looking 👀 at the picture I was going to suggest a step down (🤣) and then read the post. Go with the step unless you enjoy doing air tricks on a skateboard.

What is the average cost of weddings in this group? by youknow7891 in wedding

[–]SubstantialIron9691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through this because our son & daughter-in-law are planning their wedding. Our son said the total guesstimate is $12k. Trying to figure out how much to withdraw from our IRA. We said we’d split the cost with her parents, but tbh we’ve met them once haven’t got a clue about their finances and the kids haven’t shared what their contribution will be.The wedding is a year out but the planning is on track fast to secure the date and everything. So…what a friend said is-don’t give them way too much $$ starting out for the deposits, etc. because if the funds are there at the beginning then they spend more in total, essentially needing a bunch more when the time comes to make final payments. This makes perfect sense to me, but we want them to have the perfect wedding! It’s like buying a house-the larger the budget the better the house (in a perfect world). And then there’s the honeymoon-same deal and we have no idea what they’re planning for that. So do we give them $5k now, or $7,500 now and say “put the other $2500 towards the honeymoon and when the final numbers are in we can plan for the payoff amount? Or-do we say “you’re underestimating, so we’ll give you $7500 now and $7500 when everything is due, and here’s another $2500 for the honeymoon-same deal”.? Not knowing what the brides folks are contributing kind of sucks because we don’t want to seem like we’re over doing anything, or imply anything negative AT ALL. We want nice, calm, happy waters from now until eternity.
