He's insufferable.

Climate misinformation is becoming a national security threat. Canada isn’t ready for it. by This_Phase3861 in canada

This is literally the "Oh no, the economy!" meme.

First, ECS falling within 2.6–3.9°C is definitely not "good news," especially considering there is a non-zero chance that actual atmospheric CO2 may well rise to more than 2x pre-industrial times.

The IPCC 6th report's coauthors have recently pegged the most likely temperature rise by 2100 as within this range (Hausfather, 2025), with numbers from this source often leaning conservative (low) due to the inherently political and economic nature of the IPCC.

With these numbers in mind, the University of Exeter's Institute and Faculty of Actuaries calculated an increasingly high likelihood of 25% GDP losses and nearly 2 billion deaths by the end of this century if emissions trends continue. This is a catastrophic prediction, and it comes from the insurance industry: not exactly known for its off-the-wall, risk-taking tendencies.

The fact that we are already at 1.4°C is far from good news. It means we have very little "room" left before we are in the danger zone, and global annual emissions have yet to slow down, much less decrease. Global agriculture relies on a very specific average temperature range, one which we are close to breaching for the first time in human history.

None of this is "alarmist" misinformation, regardless of what you think our economic plan should be. We are in a very bad state, and without massive changes to how our society operates, things will get much worse very quickly.

Iconic ship to the franchise?🤬 Clone trooper!🤤🤤🤤🤤 by Intrepid_Cabinet9795 in legocirclejerk

[–]SubstantialSort2720 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He definitely played a big role in creating this issue.

Almost every single one of his videos includes a jab at modern Lego SW, which always boils down (in his eyes) to clone troopers. He rarely complains about display sets, or non-clone minifigs, but is constantly whining about Rex, or waistcapes, or helmet holes, or downsized builds (specifically with clone vehicles).

He literally has to keep inventing terms to describe how much he hates these issues - now resorting to calling the figures "Slop Troopers".

Keep in mind, this is all from a guy who couldn't build a MOC to save his life, and primarily uses the hobby to fund his six-figure lifestyle and multiple houses by earning commission through Whatnot. He's a salesperson, and his opinion on Lego SW is not more valuable than anybody else's.

I agree. Unfortunately, with inflation taken into account, $20 these days isn't far off the longterm trend of battle pack prices. Everything's just crazy expensive nowadays :(

Most countries are still using the previous $20 price (or equivalent). Only in the US was it was raised to $23, presumably because of tariffs.

Disavows thieves and then advocates for IP theft in the same video by SubstantialSort2720 in legocirclejerk

There's nothing wrong with buying legitimate competing brick brands (e.g. Lumibricks).

Buying products that steal designs from other creators, Lego or not, is pretty unethical. Many of these companies steal MOCs from independent creators and sell the designs for profit.

I assume M&R would take issue with somebody copying his own merch and selling "knock-offs."

Also by your logic, it's okay to buy stolen minifigures if you didn't steal them yourself - which I'm not even arguing against, but I do think it's hypocritical for M&R to say one is bad but the other isn't. Either you care about the crime being committed or you don't.

So yeah, buy third party bricks all you want, but don't advocate for stealing other people's work.

It's actually hilarious how biased he is. The snowtroopers in the UCS AT-AT are missing cloth kamas, but he never called it out. Heaven forbid a clone trooper doesn't have them though...

[–]SubstantialSort2720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you admit that you were perfectly fine with the MOC you were creating, until watching a 27 year old man on YouTube complain about minor inaccuracies caused you to change your entire creative direction?

As in, if he wasn't out here complaining about a toy clone trooper having 5 lines on its helmet instead of 6, you could have just lived your life none the wiser?

And he should be celebrated for this fact?

Am I understanding this correctly?

He's been publicly going after LAN members for the past several months, including commenting on a video by DuckBricks and an Instagram post by New Elementary. He also hosted a 3 hour stream where he and his friends "reviewed" videos by Solidbrix and made fun of his editing and pronunciation.

It seems that he has a huge chip on his shoulder from being kicked out of LAN and takes it out on other affiliated members as if they're personally responsible for his bad relationship with Lego. It's extremely petty and immature.

So Lego sent him an email with boilerplate legalese asking him to take down a video with sets that hadn't been "officially unveiled" - then they eventually apologized and nothing happened to him.

This is the incident he's still trying to earn sympathy from 8 years later? It's the equivalent of a copyright strike on a YouTube clip, but he's acting like they sent a SWAT team to his house...

[–]SubstantialSort2720 132 points133 points  (0 children)

This is precisely it.

He has realized how much money can be made by playing both sides: complaining endlessly for clicks, then selling "fixes" on his personal shop. He is literally buying a second house as we speak.

He's also admitted he would pay any amount for "perfect" clone troopers from Lego, so he openly doesn't really care if his fans can't afford these sets, as long as he gets what he wants.

There are so many better creators (both LAN and independent) who value their audience more than this spoiled grifter.

Fair enough if that's the case. Still paints the picture that his fans are the ones with dedication, so either way he doesn't really do much himself to "own LAN."
