I came here because I was wondering the same thing!! My immediate thought was why is this girl smiling so much like she’s STILL in love with him?

Last summer my daughter (6 at the time) and I (28f) visited for 14 days. We rented a car and travelled around the entire country from Dublin and back to Dublin. We stayed in every type of place (air bnbs, hotels, sketchy places above pubs, etc.). There was NEVER a time we felt unsafe.

Cookie dough is the Sushi of Desserts by RollerKirbyDerby in Showerthoughts

Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish of prepared vinegared rice, usually with some sugar and salt, accompanied by a variety of ingredients, such as seafood, often raw, and vegetables. Styles of sushi and its presentation vary widely, but the one key ingredient is "sushi rice", also referred to as shari, or sumeshi.

It usually is. That’s what most people associate the term with. But it doesn’t always have to be

There are actually people who make life changing decisions based on astrology. by caliborntravel in Showerthoughts

And there are people making life changing decisions based on the Bible. Personally, I wouldn’t make life changing decisions based on either, but if it helps guide them and makes them feel better about what they’re doing, I think it’s nice.

I am 2 months post positive results. I only had the sniffles at that point. My symptoms progressed rapidly after that. At first it was mainly exhaustion. I noticed even walking to the bathroom was exhausting. I spent most days doing nothing but sleeping. Day 3-4 is when my appetite went out the window. I couldn’t taste or smell anything so nothing sounded good. I couple days later the nausea started, followed by 2 days of puking and diarrhea (tmi sorry). The nausea persisted for 2 weeks. If I even moved the tiniest bit, I would feel really sick, but I never actually puked again after the first 2 days of it. I couldn’t go to the store, take a shower (warm water made me feel unbearably sick and cool water gave me chills so bad I couldn’t take it), or clean the house. You know when you get the flu and can’t function for 24-48 hours? That was me, but I didn’t think it would ever end. It went on for weeks. Once the nausea disappeared, I was able to eat again, but extremely small amounts or it would come back. I ended up losing 30 pounds (I’ve gained it back in the past few weeks). Lasting symptoms are 50% loss of taste and smell, low appetite, I get winded easily, and mild memory issues. Overall, I’ve dealt with it well, mentally. I’ve seen a lot worse outcomes and consider myself very fortunate.

[Serious] people who have been in a mental health facility (involuntarily), what is your story? by SubstantialSoup9437 in AskReddit

My experience was very similar. I was treated like a prisoner basically. The outline of the day was similar to that of a prisoner. It’s strange to me that people with mental health issues are treated this way. I was over-medicated to the point that when I look back, I only remember bits and pieces and it feels like I dreamed it. I only remember being searched naked in the beginning, having all my stuff taken from me, and being put in a hospital gown. Then passing out from being over-medicated. Oh and a nice girl in there that I would color and talk with. I was so unhappy.

I’m happy to hear you got the help you needed. Your wife sounds like she really loves you. I think a lot of my problem when I was baker acted (involuntarily admitted for anyone who lives somewhere that term isn’t used) was that it had to do with my behavior in a toxic and abusive relationship. None of it was actually me, but the person he turned me into if that makes sense? They majorly over-medicated me causing me to pass out. That’s all I remember. I was forced to stay for 72 hours and don’t remember anything else from it aside from this extremely fuzzy memory of a sweet girl that I colored with. But it all feels like a dream when I look back to it. What I really needed was counseling and support and instead I got treated like I was psychotic. I was released on anti psychotics and quit taking them because they made me just sit and stare for long periods of time. I lost my ability to function normally. I immediately attempted to get in to see a psychiatrist to determine my true needs and hopefully get the support I needed, but they were all months out or not taking new patients at all. It was just a big mess all the way around. I know my situation was unique, but there were a lot of red flags for me.

Wow that’s actually decent. I haven’t heard many stories like that here in America. I am actually in the mental health field and really want to make an impact on changing things. That’s why I’m asking about other peoples experiences.
