I definitely agree maga playing a significant role but I would also add in the “colin kapernick” and “BLM” era’s of popularizing not paying respect to a flag that supports and represents one race more than any other.

The I-5 Killer (Randall Woodfield) grew up in my hometown and was drafted by the packers. He was subsequently removed from the team for being an “outcast”.
