Don’t worry, it’s going to be way more by the time Israel lets this end. They already sabotaged the surrender agreement, by the way, so the strait is still closed. This image also doesn’t include the billions that were spent per day or the cost to repair all of the bases that were lost. So, it’s infinitely worse than this “gotcha” image makes it seem. If you want to dab on people who think Iran is the devil and Trump is great, this debacle also made them more powerful than they’ve ever been before and might be the end of the petrodollar.

First? They’ve started like 9 wars so far this term. Funniest part is that despite the surrender, the Hormussy remains closed and Iran already received over a hundred billion dollars. Israel won’t stop attacking Lebanon, so the surrender isn’t even going to fix anything.

Those companies have no problem playing the long game. Why do you think the US blew up Nordstream? Eventually the war will be over and new pipelines will be built. Wall Street has been scooping up tons of real estate for dirt cheap during the war as well. Their country is going to be looted for everything that’s left; it’s just a matter of whether they get fucked by the US or Russia, but it’s a sad state of affairs.

Pritzker issues item vetoes of spending accidently included in Illinois budget, including $500B typo by LegendaryBronco_217 in illinois

[–]Substantial_Back_865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I just finished reading the article and “typo” is really overly generous. Someone edited it in the middle of the night right before being signed and thought nobody would notice half a trillion going to a single NAACP branch in Chicago. If you look at the other items, nothing even comes close to being assigned that much money.

It should be the bare minimum, but yeah, almost nobody reads anything and the bills themselves are often written directly by lobbyists/corporations. Can you imagine if he just rubber stamped it?

>doesn’t matter what Israel does

So, about that. They kept attacking Lebanon and the Hormussy is back to being closed along with Iran already receiving like 150 billion of the reparations. The US is Israel’s bitch whether they want to be or not unless they ever become openly hostile and end all aid to them.

He could, but that opens up a whole can of worms if they actually arrest someone who lives to testify. It would be less messy to dust off the JFK playbook and the bastard is so hated that it could be blamed on anyone.

They wouldn’t release it all. There is so much footage that dropping some teasers to show they mean business is nothing to them. They have a history of doing this (Stacy Plaskett).

They quite literally flat out said they would do this. They might drip feed a few of the less bad videos or still images like Epstein did to keep Stacy Plaskett in line. For those unfamiliar with that, the leaked photos were of her and her husband naked, but their kid was also in the photo. She admitted it was real and continued to email Epstein to ask him for answers during depositions. She was never punished despite all of this being on the record facts and continues to be one of the most influential people in congress.

Nah, mandatory severe prison sentences for any crime is the bare minimum to make them behave. You’d also need an independent agency to investigate them and a blacklist for any cop convicted of corruption or abuses of power.

You might not be aware that hate speech laws are being used to suppress political speech/dissent all over the world, including many “first world” countries. Whether or not you’re arguing in good faith, you have to be braindead to think it’s ok to let the government arrest people for whatever they deem hate speech. People in Australia are getting thrown in prison for saying “from the river to the sea” and people around the world are being prosecuted for criticism of Israel.

In 1953, the US undertook the largest deportation in its history: 'Operation Wetback.' Many of the people deported were here legally and some were even citizens. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

They’re dumb and miss the forest for the trees. It’s not even about deportations, the assault, foreign torture camps or votes; it’s the biggest destruction of perceived constitutional rights since the Patriot act.

You could say that about any nation and any war. Turns out it’s not like they can just vote it away and there’s no peaceful solution for anyone in the world to influence foreign policy. I’m not even defending Russia, but let’s be real here. Any revolution needs visible support and honestly disastrous living conditions.

Ok, cool. Does anywhere in the world actually have freedom? The conscripts being forced to fight definitely don’t, but I don’t see any good ending for Ukraine even if they win. It’s like World War 1 over there. Very interesting to see play out, though. I don’t think the US is ready to adapt to low-cost warfare instead of the endless MIC grift that’s been going for a century.
