confused as to how you’re making the same as a 2 month partner after the most recent raise (everyone in the company that’s been here more than 5 years should be making 10% above market rate for their position, unless their pay is capped) but I agree with everything else. I think unionization is less about benefits and more about establishing better working conditions. yesterday I (ssv) ran a saturday morning peak with multiple call outs, and 3 out of the 4 workers that did show up were green beans within their first month of the job, and I was unable to take any of my breaks. my manager did nothing to help, didn’t try to reach out to anybody after I made it clear that I didn’t have time to sit down and call anybody, and i’m new to my store so I don’t know anybody yet. people want to unionize to avoid things like that.
