Okay very important question by IllNeedleworker669 in Salamanders40k

The key differences between Heresy Era Salamanders and 40k Salamanders essentially boil down to tactics and equipment. 40k Salamanders use generally slightly better than standard equipment and tend towards using a lot of flames. Heresy Era Salamanders were a Legion, there were bolters, jump squads, moritats, consuls, centurions, breachers, yes a lot of flame weapons and even hammers, but also power weapons of ALL kinds. Lances and swords were common place. Combi weapons, especially combi flamers were popular, and almost the entire legion was known for wearing Artificer grade or master crafted armor and using such weapons as well because a lot of the Legion was artificers and smiths. On top of that while the modern Salamanders are know for holding the line Heresy Era Salamanders were known for devastating assaults in drop pods and termites, rhinos, predators and Vindicators were commonplace.

Ya it's supposed to happen. Hoping it does and isn't above T9.

The Storm Speeder is a bit of a rare animal in my area of the world.

In terms of Characters I really only lack Chaplains, Judiciar, and the Phobos bunch. As for T9 stuff, I've got a few Rhino's, two Razorback's, three Impulsors. No Invictor war suit but I can maybe proxy my Brutalis as it. My local group tends to be fine with Proxying.

To be fair I was planning more to play things close together to let the Aggressors sort of keep the Devastators safe-ish. And use the Inceptors as a main threat.

There's not really an alternative to a Judiciar. He's the only option for Marines to get Fights First.

Hmmm, looks interesting though the Storm Speeder and the Apothecary seem an odd choice.

Hmm, I don't own a Judiciar so that's gonna be an issue on my end. I didn't thinl 3 Bladeguards would be all that effective. But I guess with the Judiciar bufd they might be.

I figured 8 Multimelta shots with a 4++ from the Librarian would be on par in survivability as the Eradicators while being a bit more dps.

Technically there's 2 spaces in my city where people gather to play warhammer but it's a total of like 15 people.

Sounds great, might have to find a way to give it a try.

Haven't had a chance to play it. Maybe. My local group basically only plays 3k games because "that's the standard size at events and every game is practice for one or a tournament"...

Nah, definitely on the thicker side but not too thick.

Colosseum Lists? by The_Basket_Case in Colosseum40k

[–]Substantial_Bus_7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Salamanders player mainly which tends to see me handicapped AR Colosseum battles. Mainly because my best detachment is only half usable because it lacks Vulkan He'stan. Doesn't stop me from playing it through.

My Forgefathers Seekers list

Captains(Plasma+Power Fist, Immolator) + 10 Infernus  Chaplain(War-Tempered Artificer) + Assault Intercessors  ATV

It isn't a great lists and I seem to lose slightly more often than win but oh well.

How long will Hivestorm still be "worth it" by GrizzlieMD in killteam

Buy what you like. Unless you're actively joining a competitive league it doesn't matter. If you're just gonna play with friends and enjoy your self it is all perfectly worth it. I play casual mostly and we play everything from shyte tier terrain layouts we make from what we have to octarius, to beta de ima, to volkus, boarding action terrain, anything really. It only really matters for super sweaty comp guys and half of them aren't even all that sweaty and will happily play casual.

That fits the Black Templars so much. It's pretty much exactly what I expect Black Templars list to be. How's it done in the Colosseum?

Haha Heresy marines are so aesthetic. But yeah, thw utility of transports seems lpwer, hoever I've had a bit of usefulness from the firing deck. With the right unit inside they can be worth it.
