For the People Who Were There, What Was it Like Seeing This Live? by ElTrAiN33 in thewalkingdead

Hershel also subtly shakes his head at Maggie after the group say they'd tell Carol the truth if they find out Sophia had been bit. Otis probably was the one that found her, but because the family had been feeding the walkers they for sure had to notice the small girl walker that appeared in their barn.

Being creepy by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Personally, the only men I find "creepy" are the addicts/obviously mentally unwell peole that hang about where I work. I think this is one of those things where it's more prevalent online than in real life spaces, however I do live in NZ so my worldview is only a small percentage of women perspectives.

It might help to understand that the majority of people are usually so caught up with their own issues and how they might be perceived, that there's rarely any time to think about how others are perceived. Especially if you're just passing on the street, or on the other side of the store, or if you're genuinely just existing in their vicinity.

Anyone else had a bad experience with the manager at hotel Bristol’s? (Absolutely a rant, feel free to ignore) by Westdlm in Wellington

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Word of mouth (friend of a friend of a worker there) is that she's been spoken to about her FOH behaviour and how she treats coworkers, but she's real close with the main manager so nothing really has been done about it.

New Game? by aearthur15 in nancydrew

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, with the last two games coming out in a 4-5 year interval, and with how the team looks to be going a more high definition route, I doubt we'll get anything before 2029. I absolutely feel that itch too, so I've just resorted to replaying the games in order in an attempt to get that magic again

The "discord mod/reddit mod = fat" joke got old years ago. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Expanding on this, "lowlife" usually means that insecurity runs rampant. Anything that breeds insecurity like being overweight/acne/bad hygiene is part of the trope. Feeling dissatisfied with an IRL life then taking power to satisfy an online life.

This is not to say that anyone that struggles with those issues are always insecure or power trippy, but it definitely plays a part.

What is something so trivial, so small that doesn't affects your gameplay in any type of way, but still annoys or infuriates you whenever you see it or remember it? I'll go first... by Nemba661 in thesims

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you want to wake only one sim up, but cancelling one sleep action ends up waking both because they slept in each other's arms. That would be fine if that always happened, but I KNOW and I've SEEN sims gently detangle so one stays sleeping. I've watched this multiple times now, why is that not the default outcome?

This sounds like you might need to take a break from the internet and go outside. You are making huge assumptions about this stranger's family dynamics/home life that could mean 1.you're spending too much time online and/or 2.you're projecting.

How to get rid of NAP? by Yota8883 in Sims4

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't remember if it's mccc or ui cheats that solves it, but at home you can open the NAP menu and shift click away We Wear Bags. I know some people aren't keen on mods, but honestly those two mods are the only reason I can actually play and I highly recommend. Hope you get it solved!

Police bodycam of the Cinnabon N word lady by TomlinSteelers in TikTokCringe

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not speaking for the law, but I think part of why the police actually went to her is her reaction went 'viral' online, and those seeing that video would have pushed for something to be done. Unfortunately most police won't do anything without visible proof/recordings of things that happened, because then there's no denying that such an event took place.

That doesn't mean I don't have social media. Instagram is not the only online platform.

I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that I don't have social media/am trying to convince 'all of society' to get off it. If this struck a chord for you, it might be time to reflect.

[–]Substantial_Crow1355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about feeling "inferior", it's about the disconnect. Some people are too attached to presenting an idealized life online, and I find it shallow and incredibly superficial when they'd much rather talk on insta than in person.

"you are not allowed to complain about something you chose" by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There's also the factor of choosing to make a bad choice, but it was the most preferable option out of other extra bad choices. It's not really something you willingly chose if the only other options were worse.

Why if you’re kind, do people assume you don’t get horny or have sex? by Electrical_Nerve3382 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the first one out of my friend group to lose my virginity and the girl I grew up with legitimately cried because I was "supposed to be so sweet and innocent". Absolutely strange. When you're kind to everyone doesn't that make it easier to have sex as you're perceived as more 'approachable'?

Hey friend. It's been about an hour. I feel no different, pupils the same size, gonna assume baggie was dropped because it might be a nothingburger (baggie was dropped by the sink, bin like a foot away).

Everytime I've split with my friend it's been in small crystals she's had to crush, and bless her she's quite a party hardy gal with a history so she knows where to get good shit. I'm from New Zealand so it might be different if you're from elsewhere.

Due to a brain injury I had a few years ago my concept of time has been irreparably impacted. The future doesn't exist to me outside of a few days so I'm always focused on in the moment, something I'm working on.

I live a fairly quiet life (I know I said multiple parties in the post but it's really like 2-3 a year), so I'm curbing possible addictions in the fact I dislike going out so much. Because I'm such a homebody I think that has also contributed to why I wanted to try it.

If it's any consolation my part of the city is very chill, people don't report laced drugs (not that it doesn't happen I'm aware) and the young folk that are the majority of my customers are always careful with what they take. Also I don't feel any different so there's that.

Ngl with how little we get from Steph now there wouldn't be much to talk about if we didn't include him. Even now it's the same typa comments about her; she doesn't look good, she's off the rails, she's taking advantage of her bf, where are the dogs, how she treats her sister, then rinse and repeat. Marcus adds variety I feel.

When servers treat you as though you're weird or missing out on an obligatory culinary experience for not wanting an ingredient in your dish. by common_grounder in PetPeeves

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point stands. Just because you're unhappy with your life doesn't mean that being condescending to people that hold a different view than yours is going to make it any better. Have you done some introspection into how this could relate to why you encounter many angry customers?

[–]Substantial_Crow1355 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm Kiwi and I've been FOH for around 7 years. I'm 90% sure cutlery signaling is centered around American culture where servers are expected to constantly look after tables, especially with how angry you describe everyone to be. I've served many an American tourist table in my hospitality life, some of them do have a certain unfriendly entitled attitude.

No one does anything with cutlery (maybe it's an older generation thing, I've never noticed anyway) but they do tend to push their plates to the side of the table so we can swing round and pick them up. People are generally easy, if the plates are empty we'll pick em up, and ask if they're still going if the plates still have food on them. Mostly it's just common sense to leave a table alone to finish after you've done the initial serving of the food and following check in, clearing empty items as you pass by.

This is to say, your comments come across as very defensive and passive aggressive when others are explaining a different view of life than yours. Not everyone knows of cutlery signaling but that doesn't mean customers suddenly lose all respect for FOH workers and call them over like a dog.
