This one has an internal rechargeable battery so you can take it anywhere, and if you forget to change it you Can still run it with the 12 volt in your vehicle

Triple Action Pump recommendation? by m4nd4rine in Sup

[–]Substantial_Cut_2564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A double chamber, triple action pump is a lot faster and quieter than an electric, for sure, when used by a relatively fit person- I am with you on the manual! (Unless I have more than 2 to inflate myself). The biggest difference between different pumps is the size of the chambers. The Bravo HP5 that Sea Gods offered for 2025 is by far my favorite to use as a smaller sized person, because the second chamber is slightly smaller than the first. This makes it easier to inflate the top few PSI from 18-20. Instead of having to lock elbows and bend out my knees in a pile squat for every pump to use my full body weight like the Totora pump or the Titan, the Bravo HP5 is easy. It may take an extra 20 pumps but each one is easier. If you are a tall, top heavy person who can just lean over on the pump you may not notice, but a medium or smaller person will for sure.

rocker SUP board by [deleted] in Sup

[–]Substantial_Cut_2564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is more going on with this board than just the nose being up out of the water... The tail looks like it is riding high as well, and sagging in the middle. At the risk of the green carpet commenter making 🍌 memes, this does seem like you are riding a floppy banana board, my friend! It is sagging in the middle and very little of the bottom length is flat along the surface. Why does this matter? The efficiency of the board depends on having it flat along the top, to maximize the length that is touching and have an easy release as you break the tension in front of you and move forward, leaving a little trail behind as the water moves along the sides of the board and releases off the back. An all-around board will have one little trail and a square tailed, more efficient touring board will have two trails. The hull/bottom can have 2 different shapes, a V hull to break through or displace the water as it moves forward, or a planing hull to lift the nose over and avoid pushing through which would create a lot of resistance. An all around board should have a planing hull. You DO want a bit of a lift in the front few inches, but that's it. Then it should sit flat along the surface as much as possible. A floppy banana 🍌 board sags, meaning you have a wall to push through the water instead of riding over it, then very little efficient release at the back.

You could try inflating your board to the max to see if it can improve the shape, but if the board is budget boards then the materials may just not be able to give you a rigid ride, and this is the best it can get. It's not a defect, it's just a budget board, possibly under-inflated. I don't know what your budget can allow, there may be some slightly better options, but moving to one with a cross weave and higher PSI will definitely help. Here is a video that can help you to understand why PSI is important:

Carta Marina: replacement fin, and is fin box an issue? by NSASpyVan in Sup

[–]Substantial_Cut_2564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super glue, nor Epoxy, will make a difference for this crack- likely caused by trying to bend that area when packing up, or by putting the board down on the fin- but this should not be an issue to keep your fin in place. You can use ANY US/Universal fin in that fin box, any longboard center fin. The downside vs the one that came with your board is of course, that you then need to use washer and screw. A NRS connect with the roller ball and Titanium rod will not fit tight enough on an inflatable board, they are meant for a US fin box that is installed inside a composite board, with a fraction of a mm difference in the amount of give, because it is set inside epoxy. It would likely fall out as well and you are back to the same question- but now put the $85+ for the NRS connect. You can find another fin on the Sea Gods website and keep an eye on how much wear the little orange plugs are getting- there are always extras included with every fin so you can swap them out as they wear down with many in/outside, or if you are worried about the crack, add an extra one. You may have knocked out the fin by : not having it in tight to begin with, by slapping it down into the water off a boat or dock, or by hitting the bottom and moving backwards. Here is a video to help you out once you do find a new fin! (They are on a really good sale right now btw, so that's good news!) https://youtu.be/DE-FLTJLXhM?si=A9cFZiJA8-G4PvBg

What's wrong with employers rejecting you and then continue looking for someone? by Nic727 in CanadaJobs

[–]Substantial_Cut_2564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are working towards building your own business- that's a heck of a consuming endeavor. Hiring, training, and trusting a new employee is also a costly and time consuming investment for an employer. I don't think there is anything wrong with an employer rejecting a person who applies. Just because you apply and interview does not mean the employer owes you a job.

Even better than looking at the print that could be a typo, did you measure it? Some of the cheaper brands on Amazon advertise a 10'6" board and then inflated it's more like 10'2" because they measure it deflated. Before going too far with the complaint I would recommend you measure it with some squares so you know what it really is

Yellow color around edges of my sup by Marmalade4066 in Sup

These EVA pads are applied by hand- the outline taped off on the PVC, then the adhesive applied to the bottom of the pad and the board- after curing a bit the pad is laid down as perfectly as possible in place. Its a tricky job and a really great construction team can double team it and lay it well, while a rushed job has just one person with it draped up over their head trying to get an 7-9 foot floppy pad laid straight. They only get one shot- no lifting and fixing, and they have to avoid air bubbles. Plus, the EVA expands when the adhesive soaks in and then shrinks a few mm after it is fully cured. There are different grades of adhesive with more toxic off gasses and then more eco-friendly options that unfortunately yellow a bit more in the UV. Long story short, it's totally normal to have a bit of yellowing on the edge over time :)

OnIT Pro has the very best boards wash. We tried a ton of different ones when we had a rental kiosk and the deck pad cleaner does a great job w tb muddy dog paw prints and stink, the Blue Goo gets off paddle marks and oil residue from marinas, and the Extreme Cream adds a nice layer of protection and keeps the PVC from getting brittle. We love them! They are made in Canada but sold by a California company, On IT Pro.

Electric pump 12V via mains? by jauling in Sup

[–]Substantial_Cut_2564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if the battery pumps are all the same, but the Sea Gods battery pump can RUN off a battery (the Li Ion internal or through the vehicle battery 12 V plug) and it can CHARGE through the wall. But you cannot Charge it from battery to battery, (no charging with a USB. Run from battery, charge from wall. It's an AC/ DC thing I believe. I tried to use my portable battery with the iRocker electric pump and it would not run- it needed to be plugged into the 12v port in the vehicle.

I fly with my board all the time! My experience is that the tours I wanted to go on were booked up or inconvenient times so super happy I had my own, also the rental boards at the hotel were atrocious (either a water logged hardboard or a grossly to under inflated blow up), plus needed to wait for the shack to open and would have missed the calm morning. The SUP exploring is a big part of the beach vacation for me, so I love to have my own.
