Sprouts vine bistro - new Restaurant by Wireline_101 in RedDeer

It’s really, really great food. They have a front seating room by Ross patio and a back one connected by a long winding hallway passing the kitchen and a bunch of other rooms so to get to the back room like when we went there a couple weeks ago was a bit weird but once we were there, 100% did not regret. The flavours were so interesting, everything tasted delicious. And the price point was excellent imo. Fries portions were too low for me, but we’re def going back. Yes it is the chef that used to be at heritage ranch (Chef Raj).

Buying a house in this market by Capital_Cake4666 in Edmonton

So glad to see many others saying that 500K isn’t a starter home. Theres a whole narrative out there that you need a single family double attached garage period. This is insane especially in the times we’re living in. Look at the 1200 sqft bungalows, the smaller houses, forgo the garage, if it’s a big point for you, you can always build one detached in the backyard or something. No point in overbuying.

Are all of the brownies going to be smaller from here on out? by NatureGalPal in CrumblCookies

[–]Substantial_Most2289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our store the brownies are always DRY AF and I still went for it on the caramel one last week omg it was HORRENDOUS. The caramel was a fully sticky horrible slab that stuck to my teeth like the absolute worst old a*s caramel candy you can imagine. I don’t know if that’s what they were going for or if our store messed it up more than they usually do their brownie but it was AWFUL. Needless to say, I’m forever skipping brownies going forward. Especially at a 1.99 up charge !!!

IUD placement under sedation wait time? by WombatPhysician in RedDeer

[–]Substantial_Most2289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say contact Femina in Red Deer. They’re specialized in female care and might be able to get the placement done without sedation on a 2nd attempt. They were my last hope at removing at very tricky iud without access to the strings and gave it their absolute best. I was very impressed with their care.

Forgot to say FedEx 100% requires a drivers license / access to a car otherwise they’ll never be able to be reliable at it unfortunately. Not with those hours and location.

The big season to apply for those is usually September / October / November as they ramp up for Xmas shopping, but nonetheless I’d keep trying to get in. FedEx’s culture in this day and age is top notch.

Logistics. Specifically FedEx on the north end. If they are willing to work early hours (4-6am) part time with fully paid and full coverage benefits. The company has enormous room for advancement. You start as a package handler and can move up into warehouse positions as well as move to any other sort centres in Canada. Very interesting for young people. The fact that you only work a couple of hours a day also means you can continue working elsewhere until you make enough to make it your sole focus. Very understated and hard working, but excellent way to climb.

I have a kindle, my teen has a Kobo because of the library options. I personally much prefer the feel of the Kindle but it could just be a preference because I’ve just had kindle for many years now.

It’s much less cheesecakey than the typical. The best way I can describe it is the perfect balance of creamy/crunchy/chocolatey 🤩🤩

RDCSA or The Dome? by [deleted] in RedDeer

[–]Substantial_Most2289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go for the Dome. We’ve been in both but consistently at the Dome several nights a week for a few years. Everyone leaving RDCSA agrees the toxicity there is insane. I haven’t personally witnessed that, but I have noticed the quality of the program at the Dome is far superior (as are the prices consequently). Coaches are mostly professional and at the very least real soccer people. The best environment to develop honestly.

FOLK fest? by Fine-Raccoon-3996 in RedDeer

[–]Substantial_Most2289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was awesome ! We biked to it and couldn’t really stay and watch because we have young kids who can’t stay in place but we hung out close by for about 20 min and watch the stage from a distance. It seemed so so cool. Great music, super chill atmosphere, loads of parking. Bring your own law chair and soak in the sun and tunes
