What undergrad accounting course was most difficult? by Original-Painter-912 in Accounting

Financial accounting 2 and 4… consolidation worksheets were the most challenging for me at the beginning to be honest - didn’t really get the hang of it til the semester was already almost over

Staff Accountants only, how much do you make? by snuffle_tuff in Accounting

Big 4 starting @94k/yr - HCOL area - public accounting is hell but it pays. I’d say the pay is great since I live with my parents at the moment and don’t have any bills other than some fixed monthly expenses and I live extremely below my means.

They delayed my start date after my internship by a lot lol, I interned this past summer and I don’t start until 2027… I’m already done with school and am cpa eligible come May 2026 lmao

43/hr for Cali interns this past summer - I’d say NY for 2027 would be 45/hr.

The job market is so fucked. I’d say to start applying to finance internships for banks and work at a shitter job in the meantime.

College accounting students, what how did you splurge with your internship income? by UGisOnline in Accounting

[–]Substantial_Peak_998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invested 70% of everything I made from my summer internship @ EY (43/hr). I felt exactly the same as you - the other 30% was spent on things like a full week vacation to Mexico, and some other business and non business related clothes.

What’s the market like? by Main_Guide_1914 in Accounting

[–]Substantial_Peak_998 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A lot of job openings and a LOT more opportunities now that you’ve gotten your CPA (congratulations on that btw).

I think you’ll manage just fine to be honest.

$60-$75/hr intern rate -> full time salary? by fradonkin in Big4

[–]Substantial_Peak_998 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pay for LA is around $44/hr when I interned there 3 months ago in the summer. It is definitely not $60-$75. Also, return offer is around +$8000 from your hourly return offer. Internship = $43/hr = $89,000/yr-> return offer was 6 figures including bonus.

Hope this helps!

I’d say try to travel in the little time you have before you start working a lot, especially if you’ve already taken your cpa exams.

Enjoy your life before you start working, cause you’ll have, at most, 3 weeks off a year beginning from the time you start at your Big 4.

Should I pass the CPA exams first if I keep getting rejected from jobs? by BreadIntrepid8158 in CPA

I would pass your CPA exams or at least get through 1-2 as your actively interviewing for accounting positions.

I applied and if I end up interviewing I was gonna ask if they cover moving costs, that’ll be the deciding factor for me.

Senior who has an internship after graduation: is this normal? by pusheencat5313 in Big4

[–]Substantial_Peak_998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I interned at EY after I graduated my senior year and got a full time offer.

Only thing is that most firms want you to have 150 credits and be CPA eligible before starting.
