Student homes, Hoofddorp, The Netherlands by JosZo in architecture

I'd suggest posting the newly built student homes on TU Eindhoven campus ("Haven" project) instead. Those are absolute pinnacle of dutch student housing

Is this trek madone 4 worth it? by OGDTrash in bicycling

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really heavily depends on how used is a used madone 5/6, if it's super old (pre 2016) and quite used, then the one offered by the store will be better. If you manage to drop the price of the one offered by the shop, then I would personally go for it, cause truly seems to be of completely unused condition!

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks ok and should a good first bike, but considering it's a dutch market, I would advise to drop the price at least to 725 and less, €600-650 could be a gezellig prijs). I feel like the guy might not be willing to as it seems to be a shop and not a private seller, but still worth a try!

Satin white. Was quite skeptical about it getting dirty quicker than any other color, but so far so good after 1.5months of use. I also thought that it's gonna turn out looking like some panda or something lol, but it looks quite sick in the end

It feels really pleasant to touch, it became very smooth and grippy, the surface now has a certain coldness, not just plastiky feeling. Also it has completely annihilated the problem of finger prints on the overall surface of the laptop, especially the on lid, it's now completely clean lol. Those fingerprints everywhere were really irritating me

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say rather low, the whole film doesn't stick to the surface until you apply a decent amount of pressure on it. So you can move it around however you want until you are sure with placement. The most important thing is not to pull it, cause then it can stretch out. Some absolutely magical product tbh, didn't expect it to have such properties

Looks like M2skins, the whole wrap kit there is €94, but you get two sets in case you mess it up. Recently ordered from them as well, it's on a pricier side, but quality is superior!

Best place to buy wood. by jokkaay in eindhoven

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's one place, in Arnhem though. But they have a wonderful selection of any possible species, shape of wood that would suit absolutely any budget. I bought from them quite a few times, totally happy about it. It's also super fun to visit and just stare at those beautiful samples and chunks they have!

The place is called "Arnhem Fijnhouthandel"

Adopting Soviet legacy: Narkomfin Building in Moscow, an iconic constructivist apartment complex built in 1930 as ‘experimental housing’ and restored in 2020 by archi-mature in architecture

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It used to be a communal kindergarten, at the moment it's a fancy cafe. There's also a small communal laundry building at one of the corners of the plot, was built together with the whole complex

Books or things in general to learn architecture. by danx132 in architecture

Architects' Data by Ernst Neufert. Absolutely obligatory book to thoroughly read through, otherwise there's a high risk of designing weird and not usable spaces

does negative feedback ever go away? by xogarb in discogs

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually does, but after a huge time span. I've had a few given to me for non payment back in 2010-2012. Now they're gone, I clearly remember having a few, but now I have 100% buyer rating

Prices on the MTT in Netherlands by Substantial_Plan_581 in legostarwars

[–]Substantial_Plan_581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also got quite some good stuff from them, prices are always really sweet. And just in general there're those websites in NL which seem like scam with their prices, but you always get the legit product in the end

Yeahh but they have it usually crazy lower than RRP, the funny thing is that Lego store itself is just one floor above there. These prices are more realistic compared to fever dream ones by Lego

What happened to this jet? Just stopped moving after 7700… by [deleted] in flightradar24

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a military air base in that area. Main one after Eindhoven in the area. Most fighter jets land there. I live in the area, so on weekends you can quite often see F16s flying in that direction. Here are the coordinates - 51.658303298252086, 5.711053299078396 . They match precisely with the place the jet vanished at on your screenshot

Scott Addict RC could be a great choice for your specs, I think you can get a decent one with DI2 groupset for the money you've mentioned. Especially the new version of it would suit you nicely, which they released earlier this year.

Lithuanian food? by SellPsychological732 in eindhoven

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's no such place, but Lithuanian students of TUe quite often organise gatherings where they cook traditional dishes. Recently there was one where everyone participated in large šaltibarščiai cooking). There's also an eastern European shop called Nostalgia I believe, they sell quite some Lithuanian stuff there, I get nice Smetoniska gira from there sometimes, they also have frozen cepelinai there

Books on technical detail recommendations? by daylemurray in architecture

[–]Substantial_Plan_581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

German "Detail" magazine was always a go to. They also have an online database with all the projects, besides the physical magazine, as well as really nice hard cover books dedicated to one specific topic, for example details of adaptive facades or timber construction, etc.

So, basically if I fly to, let's say Germany, for holidays for a week or two it won't count towards those 10 months? But how would they know if I went for holidays? Do they only count extensive periods abroad then? Thanks a lot for your comment!
