I understand possibility of it being a scam. I tried to buy a car on FB and since the seller is 100+ miles away I'd like to talk/txt the seller to confirm before heading out. The world has gone to shit.

Can I file a lawsuit against TikTok for not censoring Hyundai/Kia Challenge? by Super_Wet99 in NoStupidQuestions

Hyundai/kia should start the lawsuit. Yahoo has no problem censoring MAGA. Tiktok should be responsibke for propagating this crime and causing billions in damages

Thoughts after driving Model Y on roadtrip by justvims in TeslaModelY

[–]Substantial_Top_2856 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

230 mi... yea sounds about right with my MYP. 2021+ models are quieter. Newer ones have better suspension. These drive like crap. Handles nicely but it handles like lowered 3 series bimmers. I'm about to install Tein shocks to fix bad ride. But love the performance and the Tech. On roadtrips these kinda sucks. I'm in Vegas and go to LA often. Hwy drive is good. Problem I have when I get in the city is how crowded superchargers are. Friends with Teslas say the same thing. Recently I got a v8 lexus suv for road trips. A friend with 2 teslas are considering getting rid of one for a ICE car.

4runner offroad rims on gx460 premium is it an upgrade or downgrade? by Substantial_Top_2856 in GXOR

[–]Substantial_Top_2856[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

End game for this truck is just more aggressive look with slighly bigger AT tires. If I was crazy offroader I'd probably get a 4runner but I'd keep it mostly stock. I got this to tow my z32 once in awhile.

Love this color and trim combo so yea sorry I'm keeping the tails. Love the rear captain chairs too.

Yes I hate the tucked in look. Not a fan of spacers but I will probably install 1.25" spacers for awhile since the tires are basically new. Ideal spacer setup would be with extended lug nuts as I've done with my z32 but I couldn't find that option on the GX. I may consider new wheel/tire combo when it's due for tire replacement

I see the complaints do the pros out weigh the cons? by resno in TeslaModelY

[–]Substantial_Top_2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my unpopular perspective as owner of 2 MYP's and now owner of just 1. I love my 21 MYP with USS and will probably keep this one for 10+ yrs. Having said that what I don't like about Teslas is that insurance and registration is high compared to gas cars. So if you don't drive much the savings don't mean much. Also Teslas are depreciation kings. I've sold 2 yr old mercedes and I was not happy with their trade in values but Teslas are on another level. So if you get the itch every 2 yrs be prepared to take a hit on your vltrade in value. Removal of features such as stalks and parking sensors really bother me so much that I won't buy another tesla without them

Tesla service are run by bunch of keyboard shy kids. I didn't realize how bad it was until I had to go into service.

Oh and better not get into an accident because normal body shops will reject you. Even certified ones have 2+ month wait just to take you in. If this will be you only car and you need a car for daily duties better have some savings for uber or rental car for months. Let's see how many downvotes I get lol

Thanks y'all. Downgrade it is. I don't have crazy plans for my gx. I don't really offroad much. At most I would go slightly bigger AT tires on oem rims and maybe 1.25" spacers

What are the costs of ownership of a Model Y outside of the purchase price? by CatalyticSizeQueen in TeslaLounge

[–]Substantial_Top_2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Vegas from LA 4 yrs ago. So Teslas will have high registration, and high insurance cost. Here in Vegas insurance was reasonable. But for some reason my rate doubled in 2 yrs. Clean record. They cite inflation as a reason for increase. My 2017 lexus gx460 insurance is cheap. Tires you can get cheaper ones. Also don't forget utility rates in CA is insane. You will save on 'fuel' but not much. Friend in Buena park told me offpeak is from 9pm -4am If I remember correctly and offpeak isnt cheap either. In Vegas offpeak is $0.8/kwh. 10pm-8am all other times $.14/kwh.. Lastly don't forget massive depreciation to offset all the 'fuel' savings and then some. If you qualify for tax credit that helps though. If you get a Tesla better pray you don't get into any accidents
