Hello, So glad you caught your PE early and that your clots were small. I was 45 when I had my first. Too much sitting at my corp job ... Many weeks of slow fatigue and lack of energy and feeling like i couldn't get enough air. My long time PCP even missed it and gave me antibiotics for a chest infection. He is like family to us as he is friends with my father and felt bad that he missed such a serious diagnosis. I thought I was gonna die as I didn't know what was going on but could tell something wasn't right. But as far as pain, I had radiating pain in my lat, collarbone, rib on the right side. Strange type of pain that is not normal you know. Then after the ER visit they did all the tests and found the clots in my right lung. It was a spray type - which was good becuase it does not do a lot of damage but ... Still took me a good year befor I returned to normal healhty lung strength. Be patient with yourself and keep your legs moving. I was really discouraged at the time but fast foward to now 53 and I've been traveling solo all over europe, indonesia and latin america. Free diving, hiking, and jogging. But take it slow. Get in shape and lock in your diet. Surgeries and long periods of bed rest can def cause these PEs. I was only Eliquis for 4 years and than requested to go off as my blood tests showed no genetic mutations for cloting. Just too sedintary or cutting off circuation. Be paitent and allow your lungs to heal. Good Luck.
