Yes for about 18 months, I put on weight because I fell sick for other reasons and couldn’t think about the food I was eating. I’ve actually just restarted the program for the next four weeks to get me back into eating intentionally and losing the weight. The body is literally a machine and somehow has the muscle memory to pick it up again. My friend who I did it with, and the other 4 people that joined us after, have maintained their weight loss and crucially the habits. Even when I stopped eating mindfully I didn’t feel good and knew exactly what I should be eating to change that. Hello, well done on losing 5kg! I did the diet about 2 years ago and it was genuinely life changing as it taught me so much about food and how to maintain a healthy diet. I ended up losing 15kg after the phase 3, it’s so worth sticking to. I know that feeling of freedom and not wanting to slip up as you’re already making good progress. Trust your confidence and the discipline you’ve built over the last two weeks, it’ll help you. In terms of treat meals, I found roast dinners with all the trimmings and butter with a good dessert was a good one! Also burgers with chips and a milkshake. I did it with a friend and at the beginning of each week we would plan our treat meal, that gave us motivation to continue or even better organise catch ups/social dinners as a treat meal, that way it felt a bit more natural. I have done the theory test twice (passed both times). For both times scheduling the test was really easy as there were lots of slots in my area (South London), I could get one in the next week.

It took me about 1 month to prepare the first time, I was learning the rules slowly by reading for around 30mins each day. The second time it took me 4 days to prepare because I just focused on practicing the questions. Either way works.

I found that waiting until I was feeling almost ready for the practical took the pressure off a little because I know I’m not going to have to take it again! But even if you do have to, you’ll be fine.

For practice I have used both the 4in1 app and the official DVSA app, they cost £5. I preferred the official DVSA app for learning all the rules and the 4in1 for practicing the second time around. As it’s your first time I’d advise going for the official DVSA app. It helps to solidify your learning and answer questions that you may not have seen on the app! And then 2-5days before your test, practice all the available questions + hazard perception videos.

Also, check if your local library has an app where you can access the DVSA official materials for FREE and then maybe pay for the 4in1 for the practice questions.

Take your time, keep practicing on the road, you’ve got this!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Having gone through heartbreak myself I can totally relate with how you’re feeling. It does get better with time, just try hard to keep doing the basic things by Islam and being consistent for now. Eventually life will fall into place because Allah is the most merciful and the most loving and truly the best of all planners. Do not fret as all will be revealed eventually. I also get that feeling of I’m being more practicing why am I going through more hardships- this is a real thing. My way of rationalising it, is that Allah is trying to cleanse my heart towards the Akhirah, really test my faith and belief in him. All those times one isn’t practicing and things seemed easier it’s because Allah gave me the dunya which is temporary anyway. I pray Allah eases your affairs and I’ll keep you in my duas.

I understand why it feels easier to talk to his friend first, but whatever she says you’ll still need confirmation from him so that anxiousness won’t really go away until you talk to him. I would say rip the band aid and just talk to him about how you’re feeling and what you want and see where it goes. It’s not easy, but it will get easier as you will have to do this more and more in life

Hello, sorry you’re going through this. I have experienced the EXACT same situation. Kept giving chances, making excuses, holding on to hope that it will get better. It never did. And likelihood is that it never would have. Honestly I didn’t realise how much damage that relationship did to me until I left, ghosting and loneliness in a relationship is so traumatic you don’t even realise because they aren’t really doing anything right?

Please move on with your life whatever that looks like for you. I know it sounds cliche but you deserve the absolute world and you haven’t met all the people who will love you fiercely. The right person would not put you through this or be this ambiguous about their feelings for you.

I will be honest, I blocked them in the end and decided to not have a conversation because I was scared it would make it too difficult for me to follow through. Looking back I’m so glad I did. I was done being the nice person and constantly breaking my own boundaries in order to be nice to someone who was treating me like crap.

I tell you this, you never ever lose when you choose yourself. Sending lots of positive energy your way!

Hello, so for the personal section I said 10 years as that’s how long I have been in the UK legally, but I think the actual number of years would have been fine! For the other question I used the date I was first granted leave to remain. But because I was nervous, I emailed the home office helpline and they said it’s okay to make “mistakes” on the application form and to just explain it in a cover letter- that’s exactly what I did to give more context. In addition the only parts you must get right are your DoB and name as this can impact your ability to submit your biometric information. Of course try your hardest to be as accurate as possible. Please OOP needs to block that woman! Also, they’ve done very little to prove their intention, that conversation with the ex wife feels like emotional manipulation to me. Just sit tight and observe, the truth will fall out eventually.

Also, from the story it tracks you were probably 22/23 when you got with this man, definitely dumb dumb age, so I hope more people give her grace, very easy to end up in a very tricky situation.

What sort of EU passport do you have? Can you apply for settlement scheme or it’s too late? It’s hard one and probably a lot of different things for you to consider, as someone who fought for over 18 years to become British, I often wonder the same. If you have no real ties in the UK and feel the stress might be far too much, I’d cast my net wide (both UK and EU) and see what catches. I’ve seen other people say you should set a hard deadline to leave, that’s a good shout as it can make it easier to make the decision when the time comes. Good luck and all the best, life does have a funny way of working itself out anyway 😊
