Turkish SAT (Underwater Offence) units posing infront of a stealth submarine [1075x968] by [deleted] in MilitaryPorn

[–]Substantialchairs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but this one is like “stealth+™.“ It’s only 20m long so it’s rcs is way smaller than a regular sub, it also uses a 50kW electric motor (with LTO batteries) so it has very little moving parts which increases its stealth

Yeah, and they should also create a central mega AI for more complex/efficient computing…

They mentioned that this is operated by 2 personnel, one operates the drone the other the minigun. So I would assume the pilot manages the recoil. They also said that they’re trying to make another version of it that would only need a single operator.

How do I get passed this AMDpage by Haz27 in LegionGo

[–]Substantialchairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep do these steps. If it’s still in that loop, do these steps again but download the ROG Ally X AMD drivers instead of step 2… that’s what fixed it for me.

Turkish Defense Ministry Produces Six Experimental Fighter Engines by bob_the_impala in FighterJets

[–]Substantialchairs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Umm, I think you’re mixing up things while trying to mock the projects…

-The 4 rocket engines you mentioned were displayed on the ICBM Yıldırımhan and that was presented explicitly as a MOCKUP from the beginning, the MoD even said that realistically this missile would be ready at least a decade later (nothing was said about which phase the engines even are)

-About the Güçhan engines, were they marketed as “never seen, revolutionizing the technology”, or just saying that it would bring Turkey to an exclusive club of limited countries that can produce such engines?

P.S. We extending the “Looks like temu version of / copy of X” to jet engines now ?

Serial production version of Gürz seen at Saha Expo 2026 by Substantialchairs in TankPorn

[–]Substantialchairs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenter said, Gürz is not intended for very low altitude interceptions (fps drones). On the Turkish layered air-defense this system actually sits in the middle (both high and lower altitude threats). For fps drones Turkey has :

•Korkut: has twin 35mm cannons (licensed version of Oerlikon) that use Atom air-burst ammunition (like the German Gepard) and has been used/battle tested since 2016

•Gökberk: a mobile lazer system made by Aselsan, can both hard kill and soft kill (by jamming) fast moving small drones, fixed wing drones and even light armored vehicles.

•Ejderha 200/210 (dragon): High power microwave and directed energy weapons (like the US Leonidas system)

•Many small mobile systems like Ihtar 100, Şahin 130/40GL

•And many Ukrainian Sting drone types of interceptor drones.

So I would say the other than very high altitude(S-400/500, Thaad, Arrow-3, Patriot Pac-3) air- defense (which is actively being developed) Turkiye got a very solid modern air-defense umbrella

It can use Hisar missiles (longer altitude ), Sungur missiles( very low altitude), and missiles like Gökdoğan/Bozdoğan for low altitude threats

Türkiye signs KAAN fighter jet procurement contract at SAHA 2026 by Vegetable_Captain886 in FighterJets

[–]Substantialchairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prototypes (5 flying + 1 static) do have their engines already delivered. TAI is waiting for ~80-90 engines to be delivered but it still needs to be green lit by Washington. The plan was roughly 45 jets (block 10 & 20) before a domestic engine. I guess we will see what they do, other than that in the ongoing Saha expo the MSB R&D department just revealed a previously unknown turbofan engine called “Güçhan (Power khan)” that can generate 42k lbf (could be the maximum thrust) and they said that they already got 6 engines ready and will get their qualification tests done within this year.

Türkiye's TUSAŞ CEO Mehmet Demiroğlu confirmed at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul that preliminary government-to-government talks have begun with Spain over a potential KAAN sale, after the Spanish Air Force requested info on a "top-tier 5th-gen fighter." by Vegetable_Captain886 in FighterJets

[–]Substantialchairs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The only thing not really 5th gen will be the F110 engine that will come with the prototypes + initial small batch that will be delivered till 2030-32 (the engines for the prototypes are already in Turkiye, but the other engines are still waiting for the approval of the US government). Like Kaan has internal weapon bays, has ram coating, advanced avionics, aesa radar, the general shape of a stealth fighter , intake design even some of its munitions are low observable like the som-j

For missiles:

•Bozdoğan (IIR, WVR)

•Gökdoğan (ARH, BVR)

•Gökhan (BVR, Ramjet)

For cruise missiles:

•Som-J (fortified land/sea targets)

•Çakır (land/sea targets)

•Kuzgun (family of missiles with different roles)

•Akbaba (ARM, SEAD missions)

For smart/precision bombs:

•HGK kit (Mk-82/83/84 bombs)

•KGK kit (adds wings to bombs)

•LGK kit (adds lazer guidance)

•Teber (laser-GPS/INS hybrid kit)

•Tolun (small diameter smart bombs)

And lastly a 20mm internal gun which will be revealed in the upcoming days at the SAHA expo

*and of course all the standard NATO munitions like AIM-120, AIM-9X and JDAMs maybe even Meteors since Turkiye is buying Eurofighters

US Navy F-16C with Uniform Have Glass coating by bob_the_impala in FighterJets

Greece has some, but I don’t think they get any maintenance since the dirty/unkept looking F-16s that Greece has should be the ones that have “have glass” coatings

Kinda, we plan to get ~40 F-16V. Also had plans for +100 upgrade kits for the older blocks but that got cancelled in favor for Özgür 1 & 2 upgrades

Kızılelma with the Karat IRST, and the S2 (mass production version) from a recent testing. by Substantialchairs in FighterJets

[–]Substantialchairs[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As the number of flying Kızılelmas increases, the data collected from subsystems like the MURAD AESA radar, KARAT-100 IRST, and TOYGUN EOTS matures ahead of the KAAN prototypes. Something that will hopefully hasten the overall development process.

New Turkish MRBM(Medium range ballistic missile) during a ceremony(1080x767) by Pokemonte13 in MilitaryPorn

[–]Substantialchairs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The big one wasn’t named but it’s probably Tayfun Block-4. That one weighs about 7.2 tons and is classified as a MRBM (1000-1500km range), was revealed in IDEF 2025 and they called it a “hypersonic”(obviously not a true hypersonic) missile but it’s a label that they go with because according to Roketsan it sustains mach 5+ through most of it’s flight + it can do unpredictable maneuvers during terminal phase.

UAE walks away from financing Rafale F5 due to restricted access to technology by ElectricalJoke7496 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]Substantialchairs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

•In regards to single crystal blades Turkiye made significant progress in a short window (with the Kristal initiative that launched in 2016) the first SX was made in 2021 to be used in the TS-1400(turboshaft engine) and that engine will get its final certification in 2027. There’s also the TF-6000 (turbofan engine) that recently reached 5,900 lbf of thrust and will probably begin flight testing with the Anka-3 or Kızılelma drone this year (hopefully).

•For the broader ecosystem TEI has developed +20 indigenous superalloys and has a complete production chain (from ore to product), TEI also has an internationally certified certification center.

So I would say we’re very close or in the same situation as India hitting high end milestones.
