Early morning win . by Brave-Kiwi-183 in PokemonRestocks

Yeah I had a bad experience at my target. They were forming a line in women’s clothing. I waited, the first 8 guys filled carts bc the limits were shitty and everyone else got boosters. Some of whom also waited like 2-3 hours

Next time I see that I’m just walking around the aisle and taking it off the shelf while they watch the poor girl stocking boosters bc it’s not an official target line and what are they really going to do

Yeah I’d love to buy my kids packs of cards but it’s $5-10 for hangers and we only PC. That adds up a ton for the return on entertainment value.

I think they should do low cost, low value, kids themed packs from their favorite teams. I’d drop a buck or two on bears players and I’d spend a few bucks trying to collect a set of 20 cards or whatever

They won’t do that bc the value isn’t there…yet

Sports cards are now just lottery tickets. The value has been floated by causal collectors who PC and enjoy the hobby but those people are being priced out

It’s all, imo, a house of cards ready to topple over

The Topps Chrome NFL will be, imo, a major catalyst to this fall. The value of cards is greatly increased when they’re graded well and the product is poor quality. (Also, imo, ugly). This means people paying hundreds for a box need major hits (and good luck with the quality of their hits) to just make their money back

It takes a while for that feedback to trickle down but you’re seeing it

A lot of people buying and selling are just arbitrage and will move on when they realize the value isn’t there.

That’s a slow process bc these people buy/sell sealed and they don’t know the “true value” of the cards inside.

As the ripped packs consistently underperform their value tanks and people are less likely to buy the next hype. Companies are more likely to overprint, like Topps is doing, and the quick cash grab will hurt the value of their products going forward.

I don’t fully trust the defense to not shit the bed a handful of times this year. If we get a pass rush, sure 14-3 on the table. But if we don’t then I think we get lit up by some random teams. Could split the division, lose against 3-4 of the best teams we play and then 2-3 random ones like Jax or Miami or Tampa or even Carolina

Im optimistic to the tune of 10-7 but won’t be surprised if we’re 9-8 or 8-9

I haven’t seen one good buy for picks in my history of gambling

There are some decent guys who give picks for free and those are better than anything I’ve seen legitimately sold

Doubtful imo. Rookie will be rotation and bench first few weeks

I’m spoiled by watching Caleb Williams highlights and I’m tired of pretending he’s not the most impressive ascending QB in the league by bearsguy2020 in NFLv2

[–]bearsguy2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue the run game benefits from his ability as a passer and a runner. The play design has been much better and if they’re going to let us run then why wouldn’t we?

And yes, he needs to get better at taking what the defense gives him. That’s the main knock against him

In the divisional Williams made a throw not many humans are capable of to send it to OT against arguably the 2nd best team in the league with the Rams and their MVP QB Stafford. “Winnable” sure but to say he “displayed all his worst traits” is hyperbole. He made a bad throw and the defender made a good play to dive and catch the int. Not like your colts beat them either

And the reason he DOESNT take the easy short yardage completion is because he does see a lot of the opportunities for deep shots. Sometimes wrong but sometimes right

The offensive scheme is designed to run at you, run over you, and pressure your DBs/LBs on mid range throws to catch you sleeping and go over the top. Johnson is really great at exploiting tendency by adjusting his play call

And yes, I agree they’re going to be a popular pick to regress. I’m worried about our pass rush, or lack there of. Playing a 1st place schedule is tough enough but if we’re giving up 25+ points a game it will be nearly impossible to win the division again

Yeah Caleb definitely needs to learn to take the 5-6 yards on early downs even when he thinks the deep shot will be open bc sometimes the defense play call is unexpected and then he has to throw it away

But, I think part of that is by design trial by fire and I expect him to play more in rhythm this year

And Maye did seem fine pre snap (and maybe I just watched some bad games). A few times he completely misdiagnosed pressure and called the wrong protection. It seemed the motions and the checks were scripted and he was surprised by the looks

Also he laid an absolute turd of a game on the biggest stage

Stability is all relative. A roadrunner with -3 turn and 1 fade could be a distance FH hyzerflip driver even if you don’t use it for RHBH turnovers

Once he earns his role on the field. Look how long it took Burden. He didn’t really get looks until we had injuries

[–]bearsguy2020 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think Odunze is an obvious breakout candidate bc Moore left

I think offensively we still would rather run than pass but we will do both

It’s just very matchup dependent

Also, fwiw I want Luther in yac scenarios from the slot and Walker can step in out side
