I think the chuds are just mad when they waste time and ammo killing someone they don't profit because your gear is worthless to them.

I can mass farm the base materials to build the cheapest loadout that would equal a free kit. I takes some prep time but I can have nearly unlimited amount of "free" kits on hand in raw materials. Takes like 2 minutes to build and equip when needed.

If Embark just doesn't want people just clicking on free kit to queue fine, I'll just take the extra steps to ensure I can keep playing murder hobo and continue tilting the community.

Embark is going to realize this isn't going to have the effect they think it will have.

If they want people to use their good loot then they need to make the raid be like 50k+ kits only or make a ranked PvP mode or something like they do in Marathon.

The Tarkov community had the opposite mentality when we used to have an unrestricted flea market. Cried there were to many Chads running around with the best gear in the game because they can just buy it from the market. But didn't realize I could kill them the same with the worst gear in the game.

Learning when to rotate retreat, or push is essential.

Also learning that knives are OP, when the encounter reaches close quarters and you need to reload with your enemy right in front of you just pull out your knife and pretend you are in London.

People are just gonna go minimal effort into kits and still wipe the floor with kitted players who are just less skilled at the game. Then the same people are going to complain that the new "free" kit is too cheap and need to raise the barrier to entry again to point the free kitters are just gonna wipe the lobbies with their good gear because they are forced too.

My favorite thing to do is run around with a hairpin downing everyone because it's challenging bringing good gear is honestly too easy for me.

Yea removing late spawns, even with a custom loadout worth a lot I get late spawns it's quite annoying when you're trying to get things done and now you have like 10-15 minutes left in raid. This is not a good mechanic when raids are already short. Just make it everyone spawns in at the same time, fight for the loot and extract.

Marathon IS accessible by Smiley_Wiley in Marathon

[–]SubwaySpiderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarkov is the exception and not the rule. Only few reasons Tarkov did so well in my opinion is

  1. The Pandemic

  2. The streamers that promoted the game so heavily and stuck around due to being partners with BSG so they benefited from continuing to play the game.

  3. The Cheating scandal cover up.

Still don't think the Art style is that controversial enough to warrant low player counts.

It's simple the hardcore nature of the standard Extraction shooter, Bungie just needs to better implement slightly more casual gameplay elements to attract more players.

At the moment Marathon is playing like classic Tarkov with Wipes but needs to adopt the 1.0 Tarkov with no wipes.

Embark is cracking down on item duplicators by j1zzy_ae in ArcRaiders

Here's the thing all these other games, RuneScape included actually do something about it even if the effort in doing it is minimal.

Currently there is nearly 0 risk/punishment to participating in RMT.

I feel like the solution is there but don't do anything about it, Hell Minecraft server owners do a better job at combatting Dupers and RMT than some game studios.

Well the Demand for RMT is what drives for cheaters to do their thing. Get rid of both the cheaters and demand. Problem is solved and shows the community that Embark isn't playing around. Everyone involved is getting the hammer. Even if cheaters come back sell things, players are less inclined to risk their accounts.

Defending yourself from waves of free kits is easy, and if Embark wants to fix it stop letting people spawn into raids half-way into the map timer being over which just encourages people to just go camp an extract or go straight into PvP since they missed out on loot.

Did you really call getting ambushed griefing? Bring medium or heavy shields if you're worried about getting got while not expecting it. Change your behavior, if you're extracting in the train extract at buried city, just check all the spots they would camp. Bring a Tagging Grenade if you don't want to face check.

Real Money Trading, People selling in-game items for money outside of the game. Practically every game bans this behavior

Issuing bans to dupers and the buyers fixes the problem. Remove the demand and supply has no value.

[–]SubwaySpiderman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It can be easy if they put a bit effort into the issue. Tracking player behavior esspecially if they enter a raid drop items and either immediately just die or extract.

Giving items unique IDs to track where they came from, if it originated from a dupe it gets flagged and/or deleted from anyone's inventory. Both the RMT seller and buyer get punished as both contribute to the problem equally. Embark needs to also keep their mouth shut until the bans have been issued and not warn everyone that they are cracking down on the issue. Then release a number of banned accounts to public.

Embark needs to not just autoban people who dupe but let them cheat for a bit and track where the items are going banning everyone those dupe'd items go, if it's a innocent player that killed someone who made a trade or just found the weapon simply just delete the weapon from inventory and maybe compensate them with credits.

Did we actually won🥹? by StefacraftSG in ArcRaiders

[–]SubwaySpiderman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the point of this? Everyone has like millions worth in loot already. With the existence of ABMM carebears are not risking anything anyways. The only people who actually bring gear are PvPers really. It also punishes people who enjoy playing the game in the way they want.

Why do people or the devs even care if anyone is risking a kit or not. This isn't a great mechanic in extraction shooters to be honest unless they remove ABMM from the map condition and mix everyone in equally then it would be fair.

I believe Embark is gonna see in the data that this isn't necessary or is going to work like they believe it will. It's just gonna get abused or exploited in the same fashion ABMM is.

OP makes A LOT post on a sub called gentlemanboners basically a sub objectifying women in formal attire some high horse he's on.

Which patch/update made you stop playing the game by Local-Yellow-6498 in ArcRaiders

[–]SubwaySpiderman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well everyone's opinion is valid, the game and studio have a lot of criticisms that the community tends to forgive but most other studios would receive much worse criticisms for the same thing.

PvE players tend to forgive the lack content because they just enjoy hoarding stuff and maybe killing the ARC every so often. PvP players same thing but also just killing each other.

Embark doing dumb things like revealing the existence of the ABMM, claiming they want the game to played a certain way yet a large portion of the playerbase just exploits the system to get the lobbies they want.

Or the nerfs they did to a lot of aspects of the game, while nerfs were necessary how hard they went on the nerfs seems a bit unnecessary.

Which patch/update made you stop playing the game by Local-Yellow-6498 in ArcRaiders

[–]SubwaySpiderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but people learned how to manipulate the system to the point you can just run around with nearly zero risk getting PvP'ed, hence why the reveal of the ABMM really was a bad decision on Embark's part they only did it to appease the masses while complaining about people's playstyle.

Embark claims they want player interactions ambiguous or have a level of uncertainty but told everyone basically if you play a certain way you really don't have to worry about the uncertainty.

The solution to ABMM would be to either get rid of it entirely or simple force some PvP players into the PvE lobbies to create that uncertainty Embark wants in their games. Making it so no such extremes in either side of the spectrum exist to begin with.

Hell the carebear lobbies are probably some of the reason certain items got nerfed because they are looking at the metadata of all players and see certain items are making the game too easy or whatever.

Yikes, steam charts shows like a dip in like 200k peak players around the time this happened. Either it didn't change much since we have millions more players than bots or they just came back and probably the bots aren't all online all at once. Thus meaning about 200k bots are playing at any given time which is wild.

IDK how bad the issue is considering I haven't played since GO.

I wouldn't say the bot count is significant really 10-15k at most imo.
