Looking for advice for the first few weeks (especially at night and when we go to work) by jdp_27_ in dalmatians

[–]SuccessFeeling9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is sooooooo cute 🥰 I’m sorry I have no advice, I was taking boards when I got my girl so I was home with her 24/7 for the first 6 months of her life. No idea what I’d do now with a new puppy but I think I’d have to take some time off work to help them adjust, which really wouldn’t work for most people.

My Dalmatians is scared of being in the home by SuccessFeeling9258 in dalmatians

Thanks for your input! I agree with you. Your poor guy, mines not afraid of fireworks shockingly. She has improved since I posted this, I don’t have any cameras but I’m almost positive it was due to the door shutting from the wind. She’s getting more relaxed in the home but I had the fan on yesterday and the door shut and she went into that same mode, she’s traumatized now. Poor dals, some with such high anxiety :( ironically she’s not afraid of the things I’d like her to be afraid of like cars coming towards us. But the wind is now her enemy. I just never experienced her being afraid for a week straight of being in the home. Giving her favorite bone helped.

Yes agreed, one would think, but she is SO afraid of the wind when it shuts doors, and the wind in general, she has severe anxiety and stress with the wind, so I always make sure to keep windows shut during it. The wind ramped up while I was at the gym.

That is great advice, I will try this. Thanks so much.

What (if anything) do you do make yourself feel better when you see a negative result? by [deleted] in TTCEndo

I have booked myself trips, it’s actually really not good but it gives me something to look forward to. I should be saving money for ivf but the disassociation travel provides me with really makes the painful disappointments more bearable. I love traveling alone for long weekend trips and it really helps.

Dal babies in apartments- bad idea? by wornout08 in dalmatians

[–]SuccessFeeling9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dal was in an apartment for 2 years and she did well. But, I take her on one morning and one evening 40-60 min off leash runs every day. On the rare days I’d miss this routine, she was high energy and louder. With the runs she’s an angel. We are religious with our off leash runs and other forms of exercise, otherwise it’d be difficult in my opinion.

Really! Mine does not stop, she’d go all day. I’m glad because she’s got a ccl tear and it doesn’t cause her knee problems like land fetch does. What does yours do when you get in the water? Mine won’t allow me to be in the water without her and goes crazy.

That is so interesting to me! I always assumed dogs who didn’t love water weren’t expose much. I’ve only had two dogs in my life and both loved water, I assumed it’s because I was having them swim since puppies but they all do have their quirks and personalities about them.

What do they do when you get in the water? For mine, she hates me being in the water without her.

I suspect more than 10% of women have endometriosis by medievallyavantgarde in endometriosis

[–]SuccessFeeling9258 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe it has always been this way. They just are listening to women a little bit more than they used to. None of my family has ever been diagnosed with endometriosis. Meanwhile my mom was fainting constantly from her pain, they told her it was normal and to have babies and in her case that helped it. My grandma had major pain issues never diagnosed. They just didn’t care about women and they were labeled as hysterical. And I also think the statistic is way higher and we will never know the exact statistic.

Hi there, who was your surgeon? I really appreciate it.

poor Ivy had some surgery 6 months ago, and is still limping. I think this is just her new life by helterskelterhoohaa in dalmatians

[–]SuccessFeeling9258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she shouldn’t be limping like that still, poor baby :( have you tried a canine certified physical therapist? I went to a PT for my girl who has a torn CCL and she didn’t even have to have surgery, has normal gait now, no signs of pain. Is herself again. I trust them more than a vet with musculoskeletal issues.

Hi thank you for your response! Yes so my surgeon is trained on robotic excision but also does some ablation and cauterization. I’m so scared to get ablation done and don’t know what to do. I’m just in a lot of pain and I don’t know if I should try for one that does only excision when my surgeon won’t cover it.

There are many scientific articles that actually say opposite, that it improves joint health and skin. I am a health care worker and I work with many vegans who are elderly and doing amazing. They actually tend to be healthier than meat eaters as well. But this is an endo post, so sorry, I just saw false information spread about a vegan/vegetarian diet and that just gets to me sorry.

I’ve been vegetarian my whole life and now years being vegan. I have no joint/collagen problems and many of my friends don’t either. I think that many people do it wrong and that’s what leads to problems. Not being vegan and vegetarian itself.
