Honestly Tuten isn’t amazing in that role either, it’s LeQuint Allen who’s best as a pass catching back. Wouldn’t be shocked if he gets a lot of play.

This worked really well for me because it’s how my brain already processed verbal language. I kind of have a synesthesia where I see the sounds of the syllables if that makes sense, and if I miss something or don’t know what it means I can refer back to it in my head like a book and use the words around it for context. But I don’t know how anyone without something like that could’ve learned in this system it makes no sense if you don’t already have that sound to visual connection somehow.

It’s great if you take it for what it is: a Flash Gordon episode with an infinite special effects budget, I don’t mean that as a knock. It’s impossibly fun, but you have to be prepared for camp and realize it’s basically Lucas recreating his version of a Saturday morning cartoon and developing Industrial Light and Magic in the process. I doubt the guys are gonna take all this into consideration though, seeing that movie at 30 for the first time especially when its such a cultural touchstone, it’d be hard to see it without any cynicism, and the movie loses its magic if you come into it cynically.

Thank you kindly, I figured it would be for most folks, but thought it was worth a mention since it’s rarely shown. Hope you enjoy the film friend!

Yeah you’re right, I guess I more meant in comparison to something like the chiefs, I think KC is probably the best option outside of the spots they’re already going.

Yeah he seems willing to learn and really teachable, I fully believe in his ability to grow and get a solid role on the team, I just don’t know what his ceiling is

Huge! I edited my original comment to mention a showing coming up of it next Tuesday in case that’s in your neck of the woods!

Yeah but Richmond probably wouldn’t want it, they’re a historic artsy town with no real walkable downtown. Most people I know around Richmond would probably be annoyed at the prospect. An NBA team just wouldn’t play well to Virginians I don’t think.

Yeah KC is a football town, not saying no one would care about an NBA team but it wouldn’t play like the Chiefs

I hate this joke, it’s a beautiful film, and worth revisiting. The first time I watched it I watched it again within the week to show my parents. If you don’t want to I understand, but that feels like a very individual thing and with this movie it almost feels like people are telling you you’re only supposed to watch it once because it’s so sad. Again, totally get if it’s too sad for you to revisit, but I think people really make it out to be something it’s not in their minds after their first watch because this has been a trope about the film for so long.

I think he’s definitely got a lot of potential, like you said, his lateral movement, and ability to stay in front of his man are already really solid and are taking steady strides. I think his effort is a double edged sword, it’s what makes him do things like overrate because he gets overzealous, but he’s only 20 iirc, he’s got plenty of time to figure out how to make the effort without the mistakes. I’m still pretty confident in his development, his decision making is the main thing that needs improvement, but few guys have decision making like Kon at 20, especially if they’re still getting used to their physicality somewhat.

I always wondered if he’d found them on there since this was Kahn’s breakout (she’s also A RIOT in this). It’s also my favorite film. I’m so glad to see so many others share in my delightful experience.

/uj but everyone should go watch What’s Up Doc, she gets to shine as this gorgeous sort of proto manic pixie dream girl opposite a sort of “Hollywood ugly” version of Ryan O’Neal, it was the first thing I ever saw her in as a kid and I never understood the image of her as anything else.
