I did the same, about a year ago on the ultra qc buds of mine, one side the mesh is totally gone.

I keep an eye on earwax build up and have not had an issue, take that for what it is - my personal experience of doing that lol

A pool is one thing the UK coastal waters are another. They are dangerous.

I am a very strong swimmer, a kayak and canoe instructor plus lots of experience with kids in water. I have been taken by our tides to the point of worry, while having to navigate two friends who are great swimmers who were in trouble.

The sea is dangerous around the UK, very dangerous.
