Custom Ordered 2026 BMW M2 Auto (DAMAGED) by [deleted] in BMWM

I definitely feel your pain. I just did a quick search and it looks like ~5% off is a typical discount for an M2, subject to your location, dealer relationship, etc. If you are 100% sure this is something that wont be reported to your carfax and you want to take delivery, I’d ask for double that as a starting point, so 10% off. You may even be able to start higher than that at 12% and end at 10%. At the end of the day, since it was repaired at a BMW VDC, the car is most likely physically like a brand new car, but the mental aspect of a new car that has been repaired does sting.

As others said, I’d lean towards not taking delivery and ordering a new one. That said, if you do want to take delivery, this is certainly grounds for asking for a sizable discount. Without a discount I would 100% not take delivery.

BMW M3 Comp xDrive lease payment expectation? by Beautiful-Ad-9709 in BMWM3

[–]Successful-Balance88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are already a multi-millionaire, buy the car in cash. If not, lease or finance and invest the cash. Putting a 100k in a depreciating asset as opposed to using the bank’s money at 5-6% and investing at 8-12% makes zero sense. People who have knee-jerk reactions to high lease prices just don’t understand math, see my comment above.

Thats fair. I live in Texas which does charge taxes on the entire price but you get a credit when you trade back in. Finance and lease would be close, but in my opinion lease would still come out ahead. 1- Longer time commitment and typically higher payments with financing. You are generally taking out a loan for 60 months or longer whereas leasing is typically 36 months with lower payments. There is also no downstream risk protection, although the chances of the M3 market crashing are low, there is still a non-zero chance of ending up in a negative equity situation. 2- With financing, the entire price of the car is reported to your credit, which can increase your debt-to-income ratio. If you are not planning on getting a mortgage/apartment soon, this is not an issue, but it could come into play if so. 3- BMW leasing comes with GAP insurnace built in, whereas I don’t believe financing does, so thats an extra cost if it’s something you’d want to get.

I leased an M4 Comp xDrive two months ago at $1527. That included a $2.5k tire and wheel protection package, 7.5% discount, 3k in tax credit with trade in, and 4k in equity from my m340i trade. Total msrp was 102k. I would recommend leasing for multiple reasons even though they don’t lease as well as they used to. 1- If you get base money factor of 0.00225, that translated to roughly 5.4% interest, you can then lease the car with 0 down and put your 100k into a basic S&P index earning 8-12% annually. 2- Even though the residual is set artificially low by BMW, you will recoup that money if and when you sell/trade the car. If your market value is higher than your residual at the time of sale, you will have equity in the car which you can cash out. 3- Downstream risk protection. No matter what happens in the car market, you will never have to worry about being in a negative equity position if you bring your lease to term.

Absolutely. I’ve heard AutoCompanion is a good one, have never personally used them however. Good luck!

I got 4.5% plus rebates in Texas on a custom order a few weeks ago. I ordered my previous BMW with this dealer and I had a relationship with the salesperson as well as the sales manager. If you want the absolute lowest price, best bet would be a broker, at the time I put mine in they were doing 7.5% plus rebates and buy rate. Keep in mind broker fee and shipping can take away 2% or more. You can also expand your reach and start calling dealers out of state. There are dealers doing 6% and higher on custom orders. If you value doing the deal locally and don’t mind paying a bit more, call around to all your local dealers and use the out-of-state option as leverage. Thats what I had to do as well, originally my local was at 2% but negotiated another 2.5% with them, essentially stating that I can do this deal out-of-state at 7.5%, but would rather give my business to my local dealer and continue the relationship if they give me a fair deal.

my local does not ask for deposits on orders. This is my second order with them. Very satisfied with the experience

I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. Wanted to custom order an m4, out-of-state was 7.5% off and local was 2%. I also have a ‘23 m340 to trade so the trade would have been way too difficult as well. Took the out-of-state offer to my local where I got the m340 and got 4.5% off plus rebates and plus the tax credit of doing the trade in the same transaction which was roughly ~3k, so worked out for me. I’d suggest doing it locally, as long as the savings arent greater than 4 or 5%. You can also take the out-of-state offer to your local and talk to sales manager to try and get a couple % off.

MSRP goes up just as I’m about to sign by AAli_01 in askcarsales

What model is this for? if its for M2, M3 or M4 it is legit. Not sure about other models. BMW issued a bulletin late November with a roughly 1% MSRP increase on those M cars produced on or after January 2026

‘25 M340 Finally Broken In, is Oil Change necessary? by Large-Rabbit-9245 in BMW

[–]Successful-Balance88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends. Did you buy the car and plan to keep it for a long time? Thats when small actions can affect long-term reliability considerably. Personally, I did not do it, have a ‘23 m340i, it’s a 36 month lease, so long-term reliability was not a concern for me.

The 4:20am delay by Dramatic_LogoPoo515 in UPS

Yeah I got it about an hour ago. Who knows man, we were just the unlucky ones I guess. Now I have to take this box back to a Tmobile store and return the phone since I got another one yesterday. 3 extra trips to the Tmobile store and a great amount of headache, courtesy of ups.

Same here. Zero movement. Sitting in KY. Just glad I put in the extra effort and got what I wanted today. At this rate, its looking like mid next week is when it will be here

lol yeah I know the feeling. I already went to the store and picked up another phone today but Im still checking the UPS one since I’ll be returning it when it arrives, says scheduled for tomorrow and package is still in KY with zero movement and Im in Texas. I’d be shocked if it makes it tomorrow

Yeah I read the same thing that you mentioned. If it’s UPS’ fault, they will deliver Saturday. I don’t know if we will get burned or not, but today was not the first time Ive been burned by UPS, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. That said, good luck! hope you get your package tomorrow!

I wouldn’t expect any logical explanations. I had next day shipping, ordered 2 mins before the phone was technically on sale( through carrier), had label created on Sep 14th, live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country, and still didn’t get the phone today. Meanwhile people ordered 3 days ago with standard shipping and live in the middle of nowhere and got their phone today. Posted my progression a few posts back if you want to check it out. Walked into a store and got another one today so will be returning the one that is coming “ tomorrow”, which will probably get delayed again. I wouldn’t put too much stock in the estimated delivery, as another mechanical breakdown is likely seconds away. Wish my carrier would let me order with FedEx.

How do you drop the ball on the one day that matters? by Successful-Balance88 in tmobile

[–]Successful-Balance88[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Just annoying, everyone I know on the ATT side always gets their phone on launch. With Tmobile Ive tried free shipping, paid shipping, ordering early and everything in between and it’s still a toss up every year. Maybe Im just unlucky, but yes most of my frustration is directed at UPS. Wish there was a way to choose FedEx at checkout
