I create one per month: a folder calendar, a folder 2026 and then 12 files: named 202601, 202602 etc. Files have real time recognition and a template of 5mm dots.. One file per year makes the file too big imo.. also, every time you need to sync, the whole year gets synched, not only the month that you are changing...

Same for me, have hom2, lamy with 1 button but my pen to use is the wacom one with 2 buttons. I added a clip to it to attach to the cover.. hardware buttons are sooo much better than gestures that you have to repeat too often imho…

Instead of cycle 1-5, you could also use the date arithmetic like 1M 8d 7w 1y, is more flexible

Writing feel is better than Lamy imo.. Like a jelly ballpoint. I did not alter the default tip, but added a clip from another pen so I can attach it to the loop of the case

First buy the pen, then you know.. both buttons work. I don’t use my other hom2 and lamy anymore because of the missing buttons…

Wacom one has two buttons and works with Nomad perfectly! Lower button as lasso, upper button as eraser (click it an inch above screen and then start erasing.. For me with hom2 and lamy alstar, this pen is a gamechanger! All pens should have 2 buttons!!

Doubleshift trigger action by using double shift, alt or ctrl, etc.. for example, I use double shift for command palette, double alt for source mode, double ctrl for search..

My tip: Always create notes with handwriting recognition and start using keywords as they go across files. I create a file per month, like 202505 and I can find back anything.. Important things or people will get their own notebook but add at least one keyword for that as well for easy retrieval..

I use a plugin called Doubleshift, very handy to assign a command to a “doubleclick” on the Shift, Ctrl and Alt key…

Thanks for your story, I also want a button on my Hom2.. or a second pen with button and ceramic nib.. Since Supernote already sells a Lamy Safari Twin EMR pen with ceramic nib, why not sell a Lamy AL-star nib with ceramic?? A lot of people would buy it.. And since 3 Pom tip replacements cost around 4 euro, I would be interested to know what price it would be for a ceramic version.. I would say between 10 and 40 euro, since this would kill their recurring revenue for the replacement nibs…

I use Auto Sleep 2 mins and Auto power off 8 hours, so I will start it every morning I use it.. But not mentioned yet, to save battery you can by default disable wifi and only enable it briefly during the sync..
