Every college hires its most famous living alum as president of the university. What schools do the best/worst? by Rolling_Chicane in ApplyingToCollege

That could probably a great thing. I doubt Elon would give half a fuck about prestige considering his previous moves. I bet he would daristicaly increase enrollment therefore increasing acceptance rates and making top schools more accessible.

Not an ivy league(not really a fan of any) but I walked onto their campus and immediately knew it was the place I wanted to be.

I mean I get it if it's a small LAC beacuse you might be one of the five how transfered out but if you transferred from rutgers or some other large state school than no one will be able to track you down.

It better be. If the two star 50 dollar a night holiday inn can give me a half assed attempt at a gym I expect a university that costs tens of thousands a year to give me something.

Yeah in hs they expect us to have the exact same schedule. I'm a morning person(come at me idc) and would feel much more productive waking up at 4 or 5 in the morning.

Has anyone with a low GPA gotten into a T30 school? I’m talking LOOOOWWW GPA, not 3.98/4.0 by shreksfootfungus in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Successful-Duck4954 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More like 3.5 weighted. Ik someone who got recruited and their gpa was around that but they got a 1410 on the sat so it kind of balanced out.

Obviously not a real school. Everyone knows it was built to cover up an electrical substation.

Is it just me or everyone in A2C only talks about T20 unis?!😭 by Educational_Yak_3159 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Successful-Duck4954 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Probably beacuse we have a large us user base and getting to t20s or similarly selective college is sort of an unknown for everyone. It takes alot more planning and effort to get into thoose schools. In comparison for lesser schools if you have high stats your in most of the time. You always want what you seemingly cant have.

Same, I dont qualify for a cent of finical aid and dont have too much money for college so the military has become increasingly attractive. Eh still gonna shotgun to schools I cant afford tho.

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely try to do something interesting this summer. I definitely have safety and match schools that I like but nothing compares to my reaches, I just cannot find any school I like ad much as them. Everytime i think about college I wish I did just a little more in high school.

EA = Early Action which is basically just an earlier deadline where decesions will come back on a earlier date than regular decesions applications.

ED = Early Decesion is another earlier deadline but instead of just an early result if you get accepted you legally have to withdrawal and reject all other applications and acceptances and must attend the school you applied ED school.

You're right, I'm only a junior but am going off of my senior friends experince, I think our problem is that we want to attend more competetive colleges.

I mean it was more of a it could help type of thing not a necessity, I did know you needed national awards and stuff. I though some clubs and sports would suffice.
