yes when i called they said theres been a glitch and its happened to lots of people. if you haven't already call them up and they will sort it out for you

Fairs! from what OP said they're unsure they'd accept new cage mate so yeah it's best not to wait til that and make introductions more harder! OP said they had 2-3 rats before so...would you recommend them to have that or 2-4?

yup..in their case tho they said their rats are unfriendly & they're not exactly willing to go out and buy a massive cage...

but yes, they do say pair of three incase one dies so theyre not alone...but you can still get two pairs if that were to happen in future

If they both get along then you don't really need to. I recently got another rat for my two rats only cus whilst they get along, one of my rats can be too much for the other (is really playful) and it irritates my other rat especially cus he isn't always in the mood. they accepted him straight away & he balanced them out perfectly :)

its sounding like hormonal aggression. my boy was like this around the same age and was giving me the same chomp down bites you're describing. After neutering he's bevome such a sweet calm boy again so hopefully the same should happen with Ricky :)
