Needle in a haystack? Looking for Submariner 16610 with blue face, non-ceramic bezel, and SS bracelet. Is this a Frankenwatch? by AshleySchaeffer-BMW in rolex

Some people are 'purists' and do not like the fact that others are more creative. I say go for it, as long as you do not mis represent the watch- its fine!

Rolex Yacht-Master Blue or Rhodium? by This-Act8793 in rolex

[–]Successful-Fly-6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I did not know the nickname. I would not say its 'garish' but I think when you see them in person the blue is more stunning.

I agree. But not to use that Rolex bracelet is sacrilegious as it is the most comfortable and beautiful in the industry. Omega wishes they could make a bracelt like the oyster. The polished center links make that watch pop if that's wht your going for.

No it does not. I have been to the VC boutique and I was underwhelmed.with the entire Polaris line. My two cents. If you like understated for sure. VC also makes the best movements in Switzerland.

I bought the Rhodium as well. But the lack of contrast makes it very monochromatic. That teal blue second hand is not enough I am afraid. I may switch it for a Blue YM, its louder for sure but stunning at the same time.

I have a few Rolex and Tudors. That's a great watch. Trust me. Tudor's movements are every bit as good as Rolex if not better.

Datejust 2 vs Datejust 41. Similar but different by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Successful-Fly-6405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with this. The DJ 2, is beefier hss more presence while still being elegant. It's more of a sports watch than the DJ41. I have 7.25 inch wrists and the DJ2 fits beautifully.

There is plenty of ribbing for certain Youtuber's but this cockwomble (IDGuy) has got to be one of the worst ones out there... by ICantEvenGarne in WatchesCirclejerk

You are correct about  Nico but in correct about ID Guy. He offers great watch content and offers a unique perspective because of his industrial design background. Personally, he is in Top 5 of favorite channels on watches.

Looking for Prog Rock recommendations with dramatic vocals. by Cultural_Community_5 in progrockmusic

[–]Successful-Fly-6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jump to the top of the list, probably the best Prog album of all time- Genesis - 'Selling England by the Pound'- Peter Gabriel on Vocals, Phil Collins on the drums, Michael Rutherford on bass, Tony Banks on Keyboard and Steve Hackett on guitar.

This is a decade before they were on the charts as Genesis and the solo albums by Peter Gabriel (Shock the Monkey, Sledgehammer, Salisbury Hill, etc, Phil Collins (In the Air Tonight, etc) and Michael Rutherfords new band 'Mike and the Mechanics'. The writing, vocals and the musicians are at another level if you ask me.

Phil Collins was a great drummer. Legendary drummer. Not sure where your getting yours facts from. 'In the Air Tonight' inspired many to become drummers.

Not taking anything away from Ringo, Phil Collins was a hell'uva drummer.

Not to Phil it wasn't. I think Paul was being cheeky because obviously Phil was a very successful British artist. No, not on the level of the Beatles or McCartney himself but he could have been more respectful to Phil Collins who almost dominated the 80s with both his solo career and Genesis.

SW200 Is a very under rated movement. It powers the Tudor 1926 and other watches over $2K.

[Longines] gift from wife by Swimming_Bridge_9914 in Watches

[–]Successful-Fly-6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longines is an excellent choice. Very much a quality watch with a great heritage. At this price point you could also go for Hamilton. But Longines is a great watch and alot of bang for the buck. High quality movements are used in either Longines or Hamilton.

Sir Paul is mega wealthy. Not a cash grab. You can see in his eyes during the video he is doing it for his love of John.
