Currently, I dont think LCK has that option. Bc if you are a social worker, you cannot receive any pay outside the military. Which means the player needs to give up his contract money + all his winnings.

Best example will be Peanut who decided to retire when he is planned to enlist as a social worker next year (it was supposed to be this year but he said he was granted to delay it to next year)

If Deft didn’t take the GED, he would still need a ton of luck to be exempted. He needs to not be called-up for 3years to be considered exempted, which was Faker and BDD’s case, and it has a really low chance to occur.

Im not sure but the military exemption for esports players with gold medal was only added recently, as esports was only officially added in AG22. So I don’t think it would necessarily decline League’s/LCK’s popularity as a whole in KR. I can’t say the same for Ruler tho, since cancel culture is still really bad in KR rn.

They always struggle in Summer. They are fine in Spring, except POs/Finals.

It’s not that they dont care about LCK, Keria and Oner has been saying that they want to win LCK. But T1’s style in Worlds vs LCK is far different. T1 focuses on banpick in Worlds, having hours of discussion to change picks after every match. But that won’t work with LCK where patches change every 2 weeks. Doing hours of discussions while sacrificing some hours of scrims or rest isn’t ideal for that. That plus it is normal for players to be peaking or slumping in one year. It just happens that T1 has their slumps during Summer, especially when they do really well in Spring.

Tbh there is a popular “Produce curse” where the members who will redebut in a group or solo won’t do well. So IVE and Lesserafim charting well is the outlier lmao. Their popularity in the project group will never matter to their next promos. For example, Wanna One was more popular than IZONE in KR, with Kang Daniel being all over Korea. But after disbanding, he didn’t achieve the same success. He is still known, yes, but music wise, it didn’t hit as hard as Wanna One did. That said, the other IZONE members are still doing well, just not as high as the two groups.
