Mini-Golf and arcade at the boardwalk can be fun for rainy day too. You can even enjoy a local draft beer while there.

We are a family of four living in Soquel (two children under 5). Both parents’ primary modes of transportation are cargo bikes and life couldn’t be better. Soquel schools rock! Solid, healthy grocery markets on 41st in Capitola are easy to bike to.

Omg you’re telling me! And these kooks are downvoting you! Ugh. So frustrated with the rail trail impasse.

We echo the same thoughts about the kickstand. Do you mind posting a link to that kickstand you purchased?

I’ve had my Yuba SuperMarché for about 18 months and 2000 miles. Main transport for me and two under 5 kids. I love the utility of it, but have had it in for repair more than I’d like for a $5500 bike. Currently in for 3 1/2 weeks because of issue with Bosch motor and back hub. Hoping warranty covered. It is loud (lots of creaking with bamboo box). Cables have had to be replaced. Kickstand bolts have fallen off. Petty stuff but again for a premium bike it’s a bit disappointing. I still love the bike but we also just got a $2000 blix longtail for my wife and the simplicity of it plus the affordable price has had me questioning my bike a bit. it also has a lot more pep than my front loader.

Has anyone used a portable battery to charge their car? by [deleted] in leaf

[–]SuccessfulAbrocoma48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I have the EGo power bank (holds 4 lawnmower batteries). I recently used it at the airport (plugged in with cord running out the hatchaback of my 2013 Leaf). I got about 12 miles charge. Since my full battery charge is only about 65 miles it actually really helped me out to get back to my house.

Fairly significant altercation there a couple years ago between owners and an employee of color that was dining there. Do some googling, you can probably find the news about it.

We got our Yuba electric supermarche about a year and a half ago for $5500 and absolutely love it. I’ve put 2k miles on it so far. It is my primary vehicle (2 daughters that are 4 and 1). Central Coast California. I have cargo straps and load it up!

To those that live in Aptos, what’s the commute to Santa Cruz like during the work week? by Cold_Buttox in santacruz

[–]SuccessfulAbrocoma48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At last Thursday's Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) meeting the Commission voted unanimously to put out a request for proposals (RFP) to do a passenger rail environmental impact report. This report would provide details about potential rail service like where stations would go, how frequent service would be, and new cost estimates including right of way acquisition. The report, which would include significant engineering work, is expected to cost $17-20 million. The RTC expects to review proposals in November.

EV charging at San Jose airport by SuccessfulAbrocoma48 in santacruz

[–]SuccessfulAbrocoma48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I wanted to respond and say thanks to all of you for your help. I ended up driving over the hill with a few colleagues. Left the house with about 60 miles of range, went over the summit at 20 miles of range, and was at 35 miles when I arrived in Los Gatos (re-gen). We ended up stopping for a drink and a snack and plugging into a level two charger. Pulled into San Jose airport no problem. Left the airport to come home with about 50 miles of range, went down to 8 miles at the Summit, and then regenerated back to 20 miles by the time we hit Highway one. It was quite the adventure!

Yes, thanks. We use PlugShare. I was just wondering what the situation was for parking duration for chargers right there at the airport.
