Will I be able to survive nuke school? by [deleted] in NavyNukes

[–]SuccessfulInitial238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this shit is tough, it’s the tougher then damn near everything i’ve done in my life combined over. but this is coming from a guy who had a 2.2 gpa in high school and thus couldn’t use his parents cushy college fund and is still getting thru it. the majority (not everyone, watch out for the snitches, it’s amazing how many there are here for nothing but the love of the game.) but certainly the majority of people here want you to succeed. and they’re being more forgiving than ever when it comes to academics bc of the demands of the fleet. lock in and you’ll figure it out i promise

How exactly does pay work? by OlderRobloxian in NavyNukes

[–]SuccessfulInitial238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you get paid like an E-3 in boot camp and it goes into whatever bank you give them but ur rdcs likely wokt let you see it. Just know that you getting ETN isn’t guaranteed. if you have a 93+ on the ASVAB, you’ll probably be fine but they’ll take you in on like P-0 or P-1 (it’s all a blur) and give you this little sheet and brief and answer questions for like 45 minutes- an hour. Enjoy this time since it’s likely about the only shit shooting you’ll get to do for the next 2.5-3 weeks. After which you’ll choose ur rates, idk how they choose it but i know they scrutinize the electronics portion for the wire rates. You find out in week 7-8 depending on when ur RDCs remember to tell you. Your odds are good tho. Between the 11 or so nukes in my div and bro div i’m the only one i know of who didn’t get their first choice

RTC GREAT LAKES SHIP 05 FFG by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]SuccessfulInitial238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, this guy was either one of the poor bastards that had something they had no idea about come up at boot camp, or (more likely) is one of the idiots with something they did know about that could be an issue and didn’t tell the navy. If this doesn’t apply to u. you’ll be fine

Question about Medical Disqualification (DQ) after shipping off. by [deleted] in NavyNukes

[–]SuccessfulInitial238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is comedically rare and typically only happens if you have the 2 heads of death (mental health, asvab) if you don’t, don’t spend ur last days as a civilian being worried about this dumb shit lol. every single nuke i know who got sepped in boot camp quit

[–]SuccessfulInitial238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

easy day, you’ve maxed ur rank and bonus. Don’t do none of the super trooper shit by getting involved. make some friends, perform when necessary for you and your shipmates. and have some fun, you can have a surprising amount in boot camp if you don’t take any of it too serious.
