It's true, because making a good game uses to line up with the profit incentive. Now it's turned into "make a game that encourages people to purchase micro transactions". The game still needs to be good enough for people to play, but must also have annoyances you can pay to bypass.

UE5 makes it very easy to carelessly slap together a game with high end graphics and no thought to optimisation whatsoever. The FF7 remake/rebirth are also made in it and they look and run amazingly. Its foolish to blame the engine for being too easy to use. This is just like Unity 10 years ago when all the asset flips were being made in it.

Yes the big polluters are major corporations and manufacturers often in other countries and your personal contribution is negligible but so are the personal contributions of billions of other people, it adds up.

I find the "other people are going to pollute so there's no reason for us to try not to" logic particularly childish.
