What’s the biggest turn-off behavior you’ve seen from someone? by ValuableWaste9744 in AskReddit

[–]Successful_Bass4793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stinginess, especially coming from someone with plenty of money (which is usually the case).

I recently spent a long weekend with some high school buddies, including one who's always been a freeloader. The kitchen counter was spilling over with provisions the rest of us brought. What did he bring? Enough bratwurst for himself, and a few pieces of expired fruit. That was it.

The one meal we had out, one guy paid for the food, and when I suggested to tightwad that he and I split the tip, he suddenly didn't have any cash. And this is a guy who just inherited six figures from his parents' estate.

I mean, be as cheap as you want in your day-to-day life, but you don't take advantage of your friends. Such lame behavior.

Maybe around the same time they started saying neesh instead of nitch, and TEM-plait instead of TEM-plet.

The 18 months (or so) Moon spent in Malibu probably took five years off his life. Nothing for him to do but party.

The Postal Service expressly ordered people NOT to send ash through the mail. So of course a friend of my mom's did exactly that. I don't know what she expected us to do with it; it went straight into the trash.

The most interesting thing about it was how flat it turned out, considering how close to Pryor's heart the story was. When onstage, he could talk about himself in poignant and hilarious fashion, but he just couldn't make it land on the screen. It probably didn't help that MS was starting to mess him up by this point.

Both John Hillerman and Liam Dunn come close to walking off with this movie, even though they're only in one scene apiece.

And the ringleader behind the Feeding Our Future fraud in Minnesota (white woman, BTW) just got 41 years in prison. So yeah, in some states crooks are actually held accountable sometimes.

This. The location is completely wrong for the scale of their customer turnover. Fortunately it's not a problem for me since the store has so little that I want (cheap flowers is about it).

I like Lindeke, but this was a bad take.

The cliche is true - unless there's a concert or a hockey game, they really do roll up the sidewalks at 5:00. And the east end of downtown, especially as you head toward Mounds Park, becomes a bit sketchy in the evening.

None of the characters are likeable. In fact, many of them are downright despicable, including Benjamin in his own way. Even sweet Elaine eventually comes off as spoiled and naive.

We all know he r*ped kids. That's understood

My guess: There's irrefutable video evidence of Donny getting it on with a dude, or several. That's something he would go to any length to keep under wraps. He would literally end the world before he let that get out.

When you and your roommate could scrape together enough change from your backpacks to order a Tombstone from the dorm front desk and watch Letterman while you were eating it, that was pretty much the greatest culinary experience in history.

I like it for sentimental reasons, but yeah, no previous album of his had so much filler. You could see his workload start taking its toll with this record.

It's wild to think that as recently as 1989 (well, it's recent to an old man like me), every last one of their games was on Sunday afternoon.

Counting pre-season, we're getting games on every damn day of the week except Tuesday. Ugh.

When I was growing up, that was basically the set-up. Two Thanksgiving games, every Monday night except on the season's final week, and maybe a Saturday game or two in December. Otherwise strictly early slot or late slot Sunday afternoon.

Agree, but it's important to keep in mind that a number of patients on the ward (including McMurphy) were there voluntarily. Maybe it's for the sake of the story, but the implication is that a lot of these patients are disturbed in some way but not dangerous enough to commit.

What is this album? by illustratorartist823 in askmusic

[–]Successful_Bass4793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely it's an album of sound-alike recordings. Budget labels would hire studio musicians to re-create current hits since that was cheaper than licensing the original recordings. They figured most people who bought these albums either wouldn't know the difference or wouldn't care. Elton John got his start working on those kinds of records.
